Security cameras will be increased by 1,000 and motion detectors added along the 66 kilometres of rail line.
The motion detectors will be mostly in tunnels and will alert central control to such things as people on the tracks, suicide attempts or the defacing of equipment with graffiti, for example.
The motion detectors should reduce slowdowns along the network. The added cameras are expected to improve security.

| Its true. These metro stations are like art. I realized today that alot of metro sations have sections like ledges and corridors closed off now because kids just thow stuff off the sides and tag it up. |

| honestly whi cares about a little graffiti in, on or around the metro cars.
everyone wshould be thanksful that we have such nice stations (apart from $*&^*&^# GUY-C) and that there is constant electricity and air circulation... I've never been to NYC but i've heard volumes on who nasty their subway is. |
