| Coolness: 52450 | Sure Resnor does rage alot about his lost loves... but thats why he sells so many records.
its the same concept as most music, people want to hear about love, either lost or found... but he does talk about things other then his depression from getting his heart torn from his rib cage and pinned to a dart board to be used for target practice. he also rants alot about his insanity("it wont give up, it wants me dead, god damn this noice inside my head"), and his jaded heart("angels bleed from my tainted touch of my caress")... or his spite for christianity... "He sewed his eyes shut, becuse he is afraid to see. He tries to tell me, what i put inside of me. he got the answers to ease my curiosity, he dreamed a god up and called it christianity. God is dead, and no one cares... if there is a hell, ill see you there!" Although i like almost all of his work, i found the downward spiral to be the most emotional, and most meaningful album. although pretty hate machine is also very close. though the newer stuff is mostly just him bitching about how depressed he is and how he hates his ex girl friends because it sells better. cant blame a man for having good marketing skills. |
