As a producer I'd take is a compliment that one would consider the beats his own.

hehe. :) i always add a few twists on the tracks though when i mix, i'm actually practicing mixing in some heavy metal growling and etc on these songs during my set, it's a little hard but it sort of works, too bad they don't do it acapella style (sp?)

i'm not blessed with a vocalist like that dj from EB so anyway, if i can perfect it in time i think it's going to sound awesome.
I'm feeling word right now..

I really should have sticked to psy... promoters in the dubstep scene are unable to meet the demands of my tech rider... seriously, all I want is a bucket of curd cheese and a big roll of bubble wrap. Is that too much to ask for?
I'm feeling forward every thurs right now..

It's simple, if you have no other choice but to play a MP3, play a 320 (and if it comes from some random internet source, pray that it was not compressed twice by some retard before who decided to make a 320 out of a 64)...but just stick to WAVS. The soundsystem will not notice the difference if you play a 224 VBR but I will notice the shitty underwaterish annoying hi-hats and other shitty manifestations of playing a shitty file loud.

Maybe your crowd won't notice, but they would have to be pretty retarded. Like if you're supposed to cook for a bunch of people and serve some retarded rotten cat dish (or whatever), they would notice something about the quality of your food, unless they have extra chromosomes to share. So, play nice, don't assume people have no brain, and play quality sound. Pleassseeeee

I've heard stories about young DJ's playing insanely crappy mp3's, I couldn't believe it was true. If you want to be a DJ, could we please assume that you care about the sound

Man I'm gonna come out on a limb and say that in many real rave situations the sound is so bad that you could probably play a 128kbps track and nobody minus maybe a few producers (who are usually not on the dance floor anyways) will notice.

I've played in a gig so lame last week they had me play in 1 crappy top no sub...1 speaker can you imagine how much these guys are lame-ass organizers...was the awfullest sound ever and 10$ at the door. I don't see what is contradictory with the fact that I should care about my end of sound quality. I don't think I should lower the quality level in order to match the limited organisational capacities of some crappy promoters. Sometimes people that are not mentally diseased organize parties and these ones think about getting a soundsystem that will retain the definition of the music in order for the people attending to hear the music they came to enjoy.

People might not notice the limited frequency response of low quality mp3s when it's playing by itself with nothing to compare too (although a trained ear should be able to regonize limited bandwith)... But on a decent sized sound system, there definitely will be noticeable missing frequencies when going from a wav to a 320 to a 128... assuming that you are respecting a sane gain structure and not compressing and over processing between the cd and the amps....

Now, I had an argument with someone who said I should play 24 bit waves straight from traktor when playing my own tunes... that there was a noticeable difference when dithering down to 16 bit no mater if i were to use flat dither or any shaping algorithm... Considering the relatively high noise floor of most PA amps, I'm fairly certain that any possible difference would be veiled by the noise in that case...

And wally, funny you talk about the 24 bits, because all that does if make the dither or noise floor even lower, BUT 99% of electronic music is SQUASHED (compression/limiting) to a point where you dont even need the 96dB range of dynamics, most track could be played in 4bit formats! [i know not exactly, its an EXAGGERATION before you guys get on your high horses]
I'm feeling fidgety right now..
