Every major party has candidates in this province, I don't see how they would completely disregard Québec's interests should they be elected. Seriously, for a province dying for recognition and separatism, why do we constantly jam our foot in the door in debates and ask "but what about Quebec's needs" as if we were some form of alien lifeform that's different from everyone else. Different from whom exactly ? I mean we buy and power our cars from the same place with the same gas, our homes with the same electricity, pay the same taxes ( well, more actually ), eat from the same McDonalds, shop at the same Zellers, Price Costcos, Wal-Marts, suffer from the same recessions and deficit, the same housing crisis, same overpopulated hospitals, lack of family doctors, education funding cuts, homeless and unemployment ratio than everybody else in the country. Aside from the language, what makes us so damn different than, say, Ontarians that we needs special treatment over everybody else ? If we are to disassociate with the rest of the country, why do we need it to recognize our "needs" then ? Shouldn't we just give them the finger and walk out or just do like everyone else and get with the same federal program. I love Quebec as much as the next guy but I'm tired of all the reiteration of specific Quebec-based treatment and requirements. I have a distinct feeling that it makes us look like Canada's mentally challenged brother that will cry, yell and throw utensils everywhere at the dinner table because our soup is too hot or we don't like onions and whatnot while the rest of the brothers just stare at each other silently in disbelief, shrugging and wondering "what's the big deal ?" |

Now.. Can't we all agree on the fact that (big assumption here) no one here's gonna vote for the tories? That we're all pretty distant from right-wing ideologies? .. Yeah, that's a HUGE assumption
In the end, it's all a matter of electing someone you feel will represent your interests the best. For some, it's still the BQ. For others, it's the Conservatives. Newsflash.
