at quarantine, i mostly danced in the room with hardcore because there was room and air, and more vibe. even though everyone knows me as a psy person :P
but i don't know what all that music was called, i know there were lots of different styles. i don't know them so well, i have not taken time to make research on that.
but anyways sometimes the vibe is more important than anything else... :)
I'm feeling authenthic right now..

fuckin' narrow minded .. the psy scene was so damned spoiled this past year, so maybe you should stick to talking about what you like, and not what you don't like.

leave us 1% our 1% thnx .. it's all we have.

I'm narrow minded because I don't like ONE style of music... weird...
It was in no way a reference to hardcore events...! I would not even be bothered to go to an event with a psy and hardcore room... been to a few actually. I'm sorry you were offend.

my post was indeed a reply to sex.is.boring, I've noticed the posts do get off topic on here... I should try to be more mindful next time.

p.s. I don't like opera either :p no matter how powerful it sounds
I'm feeling punkadelic right now..

Black Magik was just wonderful. It was a pefect night for me. The only thing that would have made it more than perfect would be an attached chill room with some downtempo melodic IDM type stuff.

I love variety too but I find lots of variety in the psy scene (could always be more).

If you want more hardcore parties, then MAKE them. Nobody is stopping you from throwing a party. It takes investments of time, money and effort but if you really want it you can make it happen! There would be people to help for sure, I'd help if you want.

I miss parties like we threw in Calgary where there were all sorts of music on the same night, and pretty much everyone loved and appreciated all sorts of electronica. The same people would dance to the hardcore set as to the psytrance and the downtempo and the breakcore and the dubstep and etc. Those were the days! But it only happened because the scene is so small and hampered by the government in Alberta that we had to come together like that and mesh it all into one party, otherwise the scene wouldn't be able to exist at all.

Something I miss at parties that are not psytrance is the artwork. I go to psy parties because it's all there for me - wonderful art, music, and everyone is so NICE. It would be more enticing to me to go to a hardcore party for example, if there was some intense artwork and deco. The psy scene took me over in Montreal because of the atmosphere.

Openmind should be amazing this year, last year there was a great variety of music, not only psytrance (and the psychedelic electronica there was was varied, IMO) and this year should be even more. Even acoustic music ;) With instruments and stuff... really looking forward to it.

How about you just read the god damn thread before you spew your nonsence.
Like Nate said, there's plenty of hardcore to go around for hardcore lovers.
We're just a little fucking annoyed at leelte psy-kids saying "Best parties are the parties without hardcore." The psy scene is always going around preachin Ohm, pEace, acceptance, respect and all that shit, yet, the go and diss any other genre they can get their little hands on. pErsonally, I vote for Karma to give some psy promoter a swift kick in the butt. And I kinda have a feeling it's in the mail.

Get with the times, The way i see it, A really good friend of mine brocke his back to give what was left of the hardcore community a night out, on tuesdays, you know, so he would not mess up the other peoples event. Being all nice and shit. And Next thing you know, Psy kids started trhowing a night ON FRIGGIN' TUESDAYS, like there's no other day for them to suck their attendees dry. And it's not like they give themselves the trouble of booking headliners. SO, they just have to go out and make a weekly event in direct competition with Nate's night. Who was trying to stay out of the way.

So Yeah, I really like psy, it's just what you peeps turned it into I hate.

Thanks for nothing.
I'm feeling blood thirsty right now..

Holy overgeneralization. Maybe I've been living under a rock but a lot of other psy fans including myself really like a lot of other genres too and we don't go around dissing other genres. I think that's a minority of psy-ers who do that. I've also never said the best parties are the parties without hardcore, actually my last post which you insulted when all I had was positive intentions, clearly said that I LOVE parties with hardcore. I know of other psytrancers who think so too. Either way everyone is allowed to love whatever genre they love and shouldn't get shit from you because of it.

Nobody is attacking you and your (/our!) music and if they are, it's not the fault of the rest of the psy scene for you to take it out on us.

Have you ever heard of Ressurrection parties, they were/are the most awesome parties, hardcore industrial and it was a big special deal for all the psy people and everyone else who liked hardcore to work together on them, go to them and celebrate it. So please spare me the "psy people hate hardcore parties" .. LOL.

Maybe just in Montreal they're scared off by the anti-psy attitude. I sure as hell don't feel as driven to encourage the hardcore scene here if you're against me for enjoying and encouraging psy too. Is your attitude the majority or the minority? I don't want to go to a hardcore party if I'll be disrespected for being into psy. I can listen to my hardcore at home instead if that's the case and so can everyone else who loves hardcore but doesn't want to deal with that.

These people make parties because it makes themselves and others happy, not for the sake of personally harming you. So I don't think any violent kama is what they deserve.

Again there are a lot of people in the psy scene, not only the few who put on that night. And, it probably wasn't a malicious thing to mess up YOU and hardcore nights. I wasn't there, I don't know, but I doubt competing with you was their intent. If I was an artist I'd take what a bar would give me, if it's Tuesday or Wednesday etc. Maybe Tuesday was what they were offered. Maybe they didn't have Nate's event in mind at all when they set it up! There are electronica nights anyways every night of the week, aren't there? If they chose Thursdays instead of Tuesdays maybe someone else would be pissed that they "stole their night". Sometimes I go to live rock shows instead of electronica parties. Sometimes I go to a jam instead of a potluck. THAT'S MONTREAL. There's always one, ten, twenty things going on at the same time.

I'm sorry about Nate's night having to endure that competition, really. But all artists deal with that at some point. Psy parties and festivals deal with it all the time too. It's nothing malicious, just different people throwing their events that unfortunately fall at the same time because so many events go on all the time here. Black Magik has been going on for years now and falls at the same time as Igloofest. Them's the breaks!

Maybe I'm being naively peace/love but promoters talking about it together could help. It would be in the best interest of the psy scene too if it was on a different night from whoever gives the most competition.

I guess you forgot about Yoshin's post too. How about, we go around the boards and come up with all the posts we can find, to see how many psy-loving posters diss hardcore and hardcore parties, and how many are positive towards them instead. Otherwise stp keep your mouth shut with your overgeneralisations that just cause more animosity between the scenes.

psytrance parties are popular because the promoters put a lot of care into deco, visuals and sound and it has paid off
