[ www.rave.ca ] I'm sure some of you remember... and no noah, we were not selling any alcohol... wasnt acctually the last rave i organized... the last one was "no harder"... anyways, they took the door money because they said the bust was a drug raid and that the money was evidence... got us to stop the music, asked for everyone's id and called any minor's parents, then threw everyone out in the cold and forced everyone to leave their jackets inside while they checked the place... then handed out the jackets to people waiting outside... |

Dave tried to go after the police but nothing gave... they told us we might get it back after the case was closed if there was evidence that the money was not linked to some drug dealer we had nothing to do with... |

| Coolness: 140675 | thankfully dave had deposited some of the money from the door during the party so we didn't lose all of it... it was pretty frustrating... dave had worked really hard on those parties and they were very fun... then the morality police treated us like evil drug dealers... neither of us nor felix, a buddy of mine helping in throwing the party, even consume drugs...
twas a couple of years ago now... police tolerance to raves goes up and down... they've been pretty easy going for the past couple of months hopefully it stays that way for a while... having a lot of fun at the bass-based all night parties as of late |

yeah you might not consume drugs, but that really dosen't mean anything does it if everyone else is consuming. Let me tell you I went to raves for years and never did drugs, & guess what I was pretty much the only one hehehe...drugs are everywhere! And strictly hypothetically speaking, associating with drug dealers is also never a good idea, you know like running a night with a known drug dealer & that type of stuff, for sure that will make the cops become suspicious...guilt by association O_o. So always be careful who you associate your name with! That being said the cops had no right to take your cash, if they had wanted to confiscate it they should have counted it in your presence, bagged and a form filled out until trial. They cant just take your money like that, its not the way its done. |

I read pretty much all the posts, not sure if you figured it out on your own, but if you go to the event page all the raves are in red, here in MTL we have several events (raves) all month long, the price ranges from 10$ to 40$ with a few exceptions, they do not always have a headliner although we have some really awesome local artists. The venues can be clean to really underground, you just have to take the chance (well we know them by heart, but for you that it), a good idea is to read the details in order to know whether you should bring water or buy it there (they don't always have a bar), many places will tolerant bringing your own alcohol, just be smart about it (don't break the glass bottles). If your by car, you might want to come early to find parking, and if not know how to there get and how to get out lol, like bus stops and time they run (you could get stuck in an area for several hours after your done partying because the buses aren't running yet). I like to plan ahead, as you can see. Lastly, I suppose is the type of music, if your not picky, you'll have a great time, although they are many types of psychedelic music. If you curious, sometimes the type of music playing will be listed next to the DJs name, if not, you can click on it and go to his/her page and they should be a list of the music they spin with a sample of their work at the bottom, mixes to download... If you thought of all this already, yay :) Have a lovely night! Party Hard and be safe :p oh and man people are against after hours for many different reasons, as a party goer, the main reason is that it's a meat market! As a girl you are continually being grabbed/touched, and as a guy you have to protect your girls (friends or gf) from the clubber guys :p |
