Should There Be More Minor-Allowed Raves?

The act is getting a little bit boring, and theres really no need for it when theres a real PLUR pusher in the house.

Honestly, Id keep it up, but people like Mickos, Host_one and Verizon seem to get really angry/annoyed. So I figured Id throw in back in the box for a while.

I do believe in PLUR as an ideal I try to live with. And I'll break it out at raves too when someone is really pissed off just for the lulz that often ensue. But thats as far as it goes. I can't even remember how this whole plur thing on ravewave started...

NO WAIT!!! I remember how it started!!!!

Gonzo was all like "This forum is redundant...its the same shit every few months. Tiesto, PLUR, Blah blah blah" or something to that effect. Anyways, I had only been here like a few months and having been the one that had made a "Whats wrong with tiesto thread," that seemed to have set her off, I thought, "why not make a plur one too?" I dunno if Dee ever picked up on it.
I'm feeling a message in a bottl right now..

Gamos, when I let an old lady take my place on the bus, is this being PLUR ? When I give a quarter to a panhandler, am I being PLUR ? when I'm donating money to help people in Haiti, am I being PLUR ?

No. Non-ravers, which is about 98% of the world's population, call it "being considerate" or "being nice", period. It's not a raver credo or some law or rule to abide by based on the teachings of peeps that take shitloads of drugs on the weekend. You're either a nice guy or you ain't. Hate to rain on your parade but that's it. It's not goddam raver science, it's not Jesus, it's not unicorn jizz ingestion or some stupid power granted to you by Technoviking or some other retarded nonsense.

Mature up for Christ's sake. It's not hard, it doesn't hurt, it's not a life changing experience and it'll do wonders for your credibility.
I'm feeling [__insert emotion here__] right now..

No that is being stupid since only 10% of the money you give actually goes to where you want it to go, the other money goes for administration costs and advertising costs so that people believe they should give money.

Non profit charities are actually very profitable for the people running them.

Verizon, that msg wasn't very plur. I thinks you need to chill out. I'm not going to argue with you. However, since you think you get my views on the subject, which you don't, ill explain them once.

Being plur, imo, is about proactively trying to live with 4 sets of ideals rather than just being passively considerate, b/c you stop and think before you do something unplur, and you'll go out of your way to do nice things for others. The idea of plur is more about being aware and active, because most ppl are only passively considerate. They'll do something considerate only if its fairly obvious, easy, and they don't have to give up much or go out of their way to do it. And yes, there are plenty of plur ppl in the non rave world, and plenty of unplur ppl in the rave world. That's irrelevent. I'm not one to say what ppl should believe or how they should act, but I know the world would be a much better place if everyone was more proactive in looking out for the well being of others and society. So ill live that way and if you don't want to, I couldn't care less.

And nuclear, its a lot higher than 10%. The canadian govt requires a min of 60% to call yourself a charity I think. And I think the red cross is closer to 80%+.

The red cross's official figure is 96,4% according to the last public audit. But then again, corruption runs deep...

Yes and part of that 60% is advertising, hiring people to pan for money and all the other stuff... In the end, a lot less then that is given... Better not spend your money on that...

Personally I've always found that micro loan programs like [ www.kiva.com ] which I've been lending through for already 2 years was a way better alternative to charity. Give a man a fish ... and you catch the drift.

But then again, I'm a capitalist pig.
