Really, how many more people want to see the movie now who might have not wanted to see it before? From what I know the movie is awesome, gives an awesome impression of the Montreal Nightlife Communities and the people in it. For something that someone isn't getting paid a penny to make, I think that's a huge accomplishment.

I love how people like to bash stuff they don't know much about. Everyone seems to presume the movie is like the music. It's not... It's supposed to be informative. To give real people's opinions on what they think of all the scenes that exist in this city.

he got payed a grant to make it man :S he's still gaining something from it, wether it's recognition
or for his portfolio, he's stiill gaining from it. If you want to do things the right way, go through the right channels and do things properly.

I'd be up for a home viewing though, I'm still curious.

yes, the movie may be good and all. but it's not done according to procedures. yes i want to see it... out of curiosity... but i really hope it doesn't have a 'too much public' release. i would like to see a movie done in a much more adequate manner, without the drama...

unless the drama and the lack of individual respect is what we want to show about the rave scene...

because that is mostly what i get out of this movie, right now.

personnaly

i didn't wanted to watch it since the first time i saw the trailers

and after all this bla bla bla, i swear to god, i still don'T wanna watch it, and i just can't wait to stop hearing about it

serisouly, you wanna know/live what is the underground scene, a party rave? Just try it. This "documentary" is how destructiva see the scene, it's not really how everyone sees it, so it's normal that more than half people aren't pleased with it.

"THE MOVIE" is not about how Antonino sees the scene... That would be "THE MUSIC" where it shows the scenes through Antonino's eyes. "THE MOVIE" is how the people see it (which is why it's more a documentary, since from what I understand it's interviews with people), and the third part "PARTY RESPONSIBLY" is how the public sector sees it.

As for more then half the people not please with it, I don't believe that. Maybe on the discussion board but most of the people I know are very happy about the movie and hope that it becomes public very soon.

did he gave the camera to the people, so everyone can show how they see the scene

how can you tell that the movie is what everyone think of the scene? how did he make it? how can he know all that?

no one never ask me how I see it, and from the trailer, I can tell you right now, i don't see it at all that way

maybe the movie would be different from the trailer, but that's kind of stupid no? If trailers are suppose to inform and tease the public on what is coming

the documentary always shows the point of view of the person who makes it, because he chooses what to keep in it, how to place it, etc...

You could have come to the screening and then given your opinions of the movie. If there were criticisms that would be the time to do it before the final version is made. There is a reason that Antonino wanted to do a free screening for the people of this website and people of some of the other scenes in the movie. So they can see it and then make up their opinion instead of talking out of their ass about stuff they don't even know about. Everyone has an opinion on what the movie is, but without seeing it in the first place, you guys should not come to so many conclusions.

Most of the people who claim they are in the movie, are probably not even in the movie. Their egos are too high or something.

you are right, can't critize on something i haven't seen

that's why im only having a conversation on how me i see the thing through the trailers

and from the trailers, I am not curious about the movie, it doesn't interest me, and I know thats not i see and lived the rave scene

nothing wrong about that, it's not because Destructiva is fill with good intention that it makes the movie more accurate or right

this was a party advertised to make a documentary about psy-trance in montreal. everyone present to that party agreed of being filmed and possibly being in the documentary. i think that is a fair way to proceed, to avoid troubles.
the movie was not even for public release, i think it was for a cegep project.
but seriously that way of proceeding would be what i call respectful.
PLUR. the R is respect.

I've seen lots of "documentaries" about rave, sadly, most of them focus only on drugs.
Which isn't even taken by every participant ;)

This documentary (a series of interviews by the looks of it) could be interesting, but it's the "he put me in the movie when I asked him not to" thingie that bugs me. This isn't my case, but it doesn't seem very respectful for those people, so I can understand why they're upset.

The solution is simple though, just remove the unwanted stuff from the montage, the movie will still happen and everyone will be happy.

I saw a lot of Antonino's clips which he had taken. A lot of them were definitely sketchy. After 2 years of filming stuff, he obviously has learnt what people want to see in a movie and what they don't want to see. That was the point of the trailers. To learn how to use the programs and how to put together pieces of video. In the end, he came up with a movie.

I'm sure Antonino does not want anyone to look bad.
I'm sure what people talk about when they talk about the Goth, Rave, Nightlife, Club, Piknik scenes are all very interesting.
I'm sure when people talk about what they think of the music, that is interesting.
I'm sure that no one looks bad in the movie.
I'm sure people can learn stuff by watching the movie.
I'm sure it makes Montreal look awesome as a city.

I would not want my Parents and Aunt to see the movie if I didn't think it was an interesting movie for them to watch. I want them to see it.

WHY?

Cause it's awesome that someone has put together a mixture of what lots of people think into a documentary type video. It's awesome that someone did all this without asking anything in return.

What is not cool are people who don't know or want to know about the movie but are making comments on it. People claiming they are in the movie when they are not.

If you want to make claims, they should have gone to the screening which should have happened and then make their claims. At least then they would be true.

And as for filming, 95% of the time before Antonino filmed anyone he would say "DO YOU WANT TO BE IN A MOVIE". People were not unaware most of the time that is was for a movie he was making. If you didn't know and you were talking to the camera, that seems strange because I've been around him while he was filming a lot of the clips and everyone knew that the footage was to be in a movie.

He took a picture (possibly video too, which is one of the main reasons I was showing up to the screening with my lawyer) of me high on E at a private party at my house and then posted it on facebook and tagged me on my account I use for business.

seriously, if [ rave.ca ] inspired him, why he didn't sent us a link to watch it, ask our opinion?

if there's no money to make, why not just sharing is art that he did for us with passion, like you seem to say.

If he asked them before filming, then why are people angry?
Why do people say he put them in the movie when they didn't want to?
Why is there a conflict in the first place? Something must've happened somewhere, no?

We should make a list of those guys not wanting to be in the movie, check if they're truly there, and if they are, remove those bits for the final version.

(me just trying to understand a bit more the whole situation)
