The amount of paranoid bullshit about h1n1 is so incredibly off the scale compared to what is coming out about the WHO, the vaccines and the pharmaceutical company's that make them.

Was A constant bombardment for months!!!

Like the w2k bug but worst

Statistically, this years strain of h1n1 has killed less children, old peoples and peoples in general than the ordinary run of the mill influenza virus.

Peoples are freaking out because of the stink that the media made of it. But if you wanna flip out because some kid with severe asthma dies of pneumonia, just go ahead.

Its not being paranoid, just well informed.

I have been working for a large mainstream media for the last 10 years I have been living and breathing h1n1 since it came out. You say that you are feed up with vaccine paranoia, well I'm fucking feed up of hearing every newscast open and close with some unsubstantiated case of h1n1 in Ontario of Manitoba (witch is latter found out to be something totally different).
All you have to do is step away from your computer and your problem is solved, I have had to deal with this bullshit at work ever since may. Even my trip to Mexico turned to shit because of it (I was there when the shit storm began).

Sure, if you add up every other strain..

If you have a particular model of car that's accounting for 10% of all car crashes... that's signigicant given the number of differnt models there are..

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of the most systematic looks yet at the swine flu pandemic confirms that it is at worst only a little more serious than an average flu season and could well be a good deal milder, researchers said on Monday.

They analyzed data from Milwaukee and New York, two U.S. cities that have kept detailed tabs on outbreaks of H1N1, to calculate a likely mortality rate of 0.048 percent."

"Young People Most Likely to Be Infected

Infection was transmitted mostly among young people, with those aged 10 to 39 years being the most affected. This age group accounted for 3922 cases (56%).

However, H1N1 affected people in the older age groups more severely. The investigators found that mortality rates showed a J-shaped curve. The greatest mortality risk was in those aged 70 years and older (10.3%). Mortality rates in other age groups were 5.7% for 60- to 69-year-olds); 4.5% for 50- to 59-year-olds); 2.7% for 40- to 49-year-olds; 2.0% for 30- to 39-year-olds; 0.9% for 20- to 29-year-olds; 0.2% for 10- to 19-year-olds; 0.3% for 1- to 9-year-olds; and 1.6% for infants younger than 1 year..."

"World Health Organisation ‘Mr Swine Flu’ Under Investigation for Gross Conflict of Interest

The man with the nickname “Dr Flu”, Professor Albert Osterhaus, of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam Holland has been named by Dutch media researchers as the person at the center of the worldwide Swine Flu H1N1 Influenza A 2009 pandemic hysteria. Not only is Osterhaus the connecting person in an international network that has been described as the Pharma Mafia, he is THE key advisor to WHO on influenza and is intimately positioned to personally profit from the billions of euros in vaccines allegedly aimed at H1N1..."

1 out of 2000 mortality rate.. that's a lot considering millions have caught it.

"Estimates of flu-related deaths rise with new statistical models
Barbara Sibbald

CMAJ

A US study has determined that more people are dying of influenza than previously thought, and the finding holds true for Canada too.

//

The estimates are "similar in Canada," says Dr. Theresa Tam, chief of respiratory disease with the Centre for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control. Canada's flu toll had been estimated at 500 to 1500 deaths annually, but after using new modelling Health Canada estimated that 700 to 2500 deaths may be attributable to influenza."

363 deaths in Canada attributed to h1n1. Scary stuff... ;)

if people want to freak out about something it should be the obesity epidemic and related disease such as heart disease and diabetes. That's killing a hell of a lot more people. The WHO should be having emergency meetings about that.

"The strain of swine flu virus currently circulating around the world is less deadly than previously thought, say British scientists who compared its effect to that of other pandemic viruses.

The 2009 flu pandemic is about 100 times less lethal than the 1918 Spanish flu and nearly 10 times less fatal than the flu pandemics of 1957 and 1968.

Those findings were reported in Thursday's online issue of British Medical Journal, BMJ."

"Canada ordered 50.4 million doses of H1N1 vaccine, enough to give 75 per cent of Canadians two doses apiece if two were required for protection. Studies completed after the order was placed revealed that one dose is sufficient to protect all but the youngest of children.

Up until now, Canadian authorities have steadfastly refused to discuss what they might do with the excess vaccine, saying they wanted to ensure Canada's needs were being met before crossing that bridge. "

"Due to this vaccines, which were perceived as low margin business before, have now emerged as one of the most lucrative segments in the pharmaceutical industry. Moreover with the success of a number of blockbuster products, the market place has changed dramatically. Pharmamajor’s today look upon vaccines as a driver for their future growth.

Already vaccines have become big business for pharmaceutical giants like GlaxoSmithKline, sanofi pasteur and Merck & Co.. For e.g. GSKBio, GSK's vaccines arm, accounted for 8.4 percent of GSK's pharmaceutical turnover in 2006. And it is expected that by 2012 companies like GSK, Sanofi-aventis, Merck & Co., and Wyeth vaccines arm will fetch them more than 10 percent of sales from vaccine as a percentage of overall pharma sales.

Overall the worldwide vaccine market has registered revenue of US$ 21 Billion in 2008."

"Pfizer Inc., the world's largest drug maker, will pay a record $2.3-billion US civil and criminal penalty over unlawful prescription drug promotions.

Announcing the settlement Wednesday, the Justice Department said that it included the largest criminal fine in U.S. history — $1.2 billion. The agreement also included a criminal forfeiture of $105 million."

"Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq is not reconsidering the appointment of a senior pharmaceutical executive to the governing council of the federal government's funding arm for medical research.

Aglukkaq told reporters on Thursday that there is no conflict of interest in the appointment of Bernard Prigent, vice-president and medical director of Pfizer Canada, to the governing council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)."
