 Coolness: 159080 | Host, problem is waaaaaaaay too many people are giving in to that paranoid delusional crap posted all over the news and newspapers. People don't seem to understand that the media is based on RATINGS hence any news crew that finds one person who was vaccinated and still got the flu is going to be played nonstop on any newscast for 24h.
Of course, the media isn't going to tell you "look, don't get alarmed, it's one person out of 1 000 000", they're going to tell you "he got it... will you be the next one ? Keep watching this newscast to find out how to prevent that from happening". The whole idea is to get you paranoid enough about it to be glued to the fucking channel. If people looked at the infected versus non-infected ratio, maybe they'd stop freaking the fuck out. But then again, just like [ Rave.ca ] drama, they need this kind of excitement in their lives. Next thing you know, there's an actual zombie outbreak and people will come on here and say "dude, my neighbors are all turning and I'm starting to feel a bit weird and have these rashes on my neck. OMG what should I do ? Should I call a doctor ? Do I still go to work ? Shit, that would explain my conversation-less date last night, she kept looking at my forehead and salivating. Oh God, I DON'T WANT TO BECOME A ZOMBIE ! But actually on the news this morning ( I think I was watching Cananda AM) They had a man on who specializes in viral outbreaks (how they spread, mutate, attack the body, etc) And he was telling people to calm the fuck down and it's only about 1 in 250 000 people who can contract a version of the H1N1 virus that's deadly enough to kill a person. He said you're more likely to be hit by lighning. Whether or not this is true I don't know, but it was nice to hear after all the "SWINE FLU IS GONNA KILL YOUUU!!!!" bullshit. Plus people need to keep in mind that every year, during regular flu season, teens and children die. It's horrible, but it happens. Just calm down, and if you feel like you're getting sick stay at home and rest, odds are you'll get better after a few days :) |

I'm getting pretty sick of this thing. P.S. My mother took the vaccine last friday because she's in Trois-Pistoles (if you follow the news, you understand what I'm saying) and she's working in the hospital. Yet, she hasn't felt any side effects. |
