 Coolness: 685670 | I've got a pretty great solution for our troll problem, since noah won't ban them.
once someone has positivley been identified as a troll, their account is flagged as a troll account, which automaticaly puts them in EVERYONE's ignore list. Any time you toggle a post of theirs, there's a big warning in french and english that says something along the lines of "this user is a known troll, don't take anything he says seriously and don't expect an inteligent answer." possibly add a warning that if you feed the troll, you will also get flagged as a troll. These warnings should also be displayed any time someone tries to remove a troll from their ignore list, and you have to confirm that you want to see their posts and agree not to feed the troll, on the penalty of being marked as a troll yourself. Same thing goes for ban evasion.. Sure, they could make a hundred diffrent email accounts to make a hundred diffrent ravewave accounts, but eventually they'll just tire themselves out and fuck off somewhere else. |

| Coolness: 685670 | I'm thinking we could do it like the thread rating system; after a certain amount of votes (say, 15, to be fair and not have anyone really abuse the system), a user is automaticaly flagged as a troll, so that we don't have to bother Noah. Also, troll-flagged users can't vote in thread-quality or for determining it a user is a troll, so that they don't counter-troll and make 15 fake accounts and make the whole site get banned.
maybe a system in place that only lets you flag someone as a troll once a week, or only every 48 hours.. and limit it's access to people who've been on the board for a month or 2, so that someone can't just make a ton of fake accounts and make everyone ignored.. |
