you still miss the point. did you read history books or even the constitution?

as a principle i almost totally agree with the constitution... and as i said my viewpoints on politics tends to be libertarian...

but to answer your argument just recently during katrina. i would have regret to not have a gun. you could tell that when a mess happen like that it's not this fucking gov. who gonna come rescue you.

and...people who leaves firearms to kids reach are very stupid. and even in a world without guns i would have doubt on their parenting skills.

also in case of a civil war or a war with the oh! so powerful military gov. i still prefer dying while fighting than being without my gun and clueless... and die anyway.

i do believe that guns ownership should be somehow supervised.

personally i sleep better at night thinking that i have done everything i could to protect my life, my family, my rights, my house, and my ideology.

VIVRE LIBRE OU MOURIR!!!

seriously, a whole lot of people missed the point here...

the key statement here is that guns are a SYMBOL of freedom for (some) Americans, not a tool to attack a corrupt government

now my counter-argument to this would be pretty simple... this is officially the stupidest fucking symbol for freedom ever... having an object which's function is to seriously injure or kill people is fucking ridiculous... for fucks sake, paint a fucking statue of liberty on your garage door or something instead and get over it...

and seriously, i do beleive most people dont try and make a political stand when they buy a gun. between you and me, i think people are just scared shitless of what the media feeds them day after day and the quickie solution to them is to get a gun... something that has proven to be a really fucking stupid thing to do!

Let's not forget that Heston came to maturity during the McCarthy hearings. Fear of the hidden commie traitor was enough to arm yourself.

Gun control laws are bullshit. It is a voluntary submission to the government.

The same thing goes for forced-education of children.

yes this is the point. it's symbol of freedom. it's a liberty. it's a right.

as i believe in freedom of speech and protest. i believe in the right to have different individual opinions. i believe in the right of having your own religion or philosophy. i believe also that everybody should have the liberty to do what the fuck they want until they step on the liberties of others.
(a lot of libertarian branch (it's such a wide philosophic and politic approach) are for this reason divides for what is the right of abortion.)

that include the rights to a person to take drugs or commit suicide if they want. i don't believe also in welfare that much or public/taxe/gov charity. for people in need i prefer private charity.. ect..

i don't like the fucking principle of a government, that's all. we are in an era where example, the american government army is constituate also of a corporate contractuel army. think about it.

Well that's just it Betty, while you won't go out and kill people with that gun of yours, others will and already do. Their right to bear arms is stepping onto everyone else's right to live.

hmmmm i don't think so because even if i don't have MY right to bear my rifle, these people will go attack other people and step into their liberties with knives. or forks. or stones right off the ground...anyway.

the last rwanda genocide in 94 show us perfectly that everything can get done with a machette. are you against the right to have axe.. or machette ...or knives... ?

All I know is that, having seen " Lord of War ", I'm not so fond of gun toting diplomats, mind you.

Or any conflict being settled with the use of automatic weapons. Wow. That coming from a guy that can't stop Call of Duty 4 online. Oh the irony. At least it's a game.

Also, I must point out that the Constitution was written in times where home alarm systems didn't exist and you had no recourse but to have a tube full of lead by the side of your bed to prevent anyone from robbing your house.

This is the 21st century though, not the 1895, and americans ain't Jesse James or Wyatt Earp anymore. We have home alarms, the police, your neighbor and just about 17 different ways to protect yourself ASIDE from a fucking gun for protection. If you own a gun for protection, chances are it's being used NOT on protective occasions and end up being a pretty fashionable item, when you think about that.

I dunno, most action heroes in movies have chromed guns and such and are more customizable than cellphones. At that point, no one can tell me that their M16 rifle with a low recoil barrel, laser targeting and 12X scope is for PROTECTION only...
I'm feeling in the past but right now..

My Army of Two Ak-47 has spinning wheels and hydraulics. Also... made of pure gold.

Oh, I forgot. It has a riot shield attached to it and it houses four people in the summer (it's not well insulated so I don't advise inhabiting it in the winter).

i don't think the question is pro gun or not. or who have gun or who wants it.. it's just a civil right like an other. if the police and the military can have a gun i don't know why a civil couldn't have one.

it's simple as that.

for sure in an utopia, like the kind of world who will never happen to be... i would be against the invention or use of gun... but as i said this utopic world doesn't exist and never will.

so i think some people here should slack on reading only hippie leftist bs.
