 Coolness: 158225 | No, not at all. It IS overhyped but it doesn't mean that it is ONLY hype. It still kicks major assage and much better than say, the American version of Godzilla.
See it as 9/11 meets giant monster. It looks incredible, feels real and is long enough to be enjoyable without being tedious. However, it's not the second coming of Christ. |

AMAZING!!! ^__^ I like the big dude (also known as monster) hmm, would like to say more about movie but that would be spoilers... go see it though. Camera movement didn't make me dizzy. Was able to eat and drink in the same time lol ;) nachos with cheese and stuffs I liked how the movie portrayed very well how people in 2008 react to disasters/unusual stuffs, taking pictures with their cellphones and all... Oli says: I find the first 1:20 to be really well made, with thrill and unexpected turns of events all around. Better than what most zombie movies ever attempt, this movie has the human factor right off the charts as well as stupid "modern society" reactions (such as filming what's going on instead of gtfo'ing quickly; taking pictures of a disaster with a cellphone, or watching tv while hell breaks lose outside). The last 4 minutes of the movie will be seen differently from person to person: if you liked the War of the Worlds' ending or 2001: a space odyssey's ending, you will like this movie's ending. Else, you can extrapolate, but if I wrote what I thought I'd be making a deathwish while being next to my girlfriend right now ;) |

To me, it wasn't a huge mega-revelation like Space Odyssey was when I first watched it, but it's definitely worth it :) Ambiguous ending too. Will buy it when it comes out. |

 Coolness: 93485 | its blair witch meets godzilla. Its ok. Its not a rental (ie, it will suck on video). That said...im not sure it was worth the 8$ i paid to go see it...it might have been, it might not have been. Its a pretty close call.
Cool concept, cool special effects, awesome camera work, just the right amount of time. Very weak plot |

It was pure crap, the acting was crap the CGI was poor at it's best, after parking, gas, tickets, popcorn, drinks and the shit seats in the theater it was a huge waste of money and time. It's the first time I have ever heard an entire theater full of people boo at the end of a film. Today I went out and purchased and watched a copy of Godzilla from Tristar pictures.. Godzilla is a much better film, one with real actors - real action you can see - a great plot and build - Godzilla was one jaw dropping scene after another and it never lost it's momentum. Godzilla earned my respect. CLOVERFIELD was shit. Save your money people, download it if you want to see it. and if you want to see a truly great monster movie Godzilla, Alien or perhaps the first Jurassic Park are still the best you can get. |
