Terraforming do takes a long time on a planetary scale, but terraforming a facility can be done in a matter of months, and a city in a year or two ! Even if only a handful of people survive, we`ll do what we're best at ... copulate !! :D
I'm feeling week-end ! right now..

Ha, that is all you have to add? no points? no arguments? so you just post some random gibberish.
I think that is all have to add is 'cause you don't know anything, Even if you learn about astronomy, technologies and science, then you would know that Terraforming is hundreds of years away. ..Only you would accept science-fiction literature as facts. You know there is a difference between dreaming and REALITY.

Do you even pondered before posting, if the Human race don't have the capability to deflect or destroy an asteroid when Kingdom Comes, then do you really think we can terraform, colonized, and built cities on Mars and on the Moon.

Go Ahead, post whatever, I will counter any of your points.

Actually, don't post whatever. Post your view and debate about it.

Personal attacks are useless. I will not debate with anyone who is not mature enough to do so, and this is why I won't add any argument. Arguments are for conversation, not for monologues. You can tell yourself you won if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Well you state that you know more than me, and i am asking you to prove it.

I didn't personally attack you. I called you out, for the things you post are out of benightedness.
.. and if you don't want to add anything, then you prove my point.

I believe that insects probably have the best survival skills, I dunno if they can resist a nuclear explosion but they populate quickly and unless every spot on the globe had a nuclear bomb on it you'd never be able to get rid of them. Also if we went to Mars we would have to put insects there to develope the ecosystem.

You are right in that moondancer ! But then again we would have to bring them with us, or they would die with the planet, when it finally dies ... It's just another kind of symbiosis I guess ! I guess our survival skills becomes tied with each other in the end ! How PLUR is this ? :)

I hope what you wrote was a typo, because humans have been around in similar form for 2 000 000 years, not 200 000.

Terraforming isn't a process that actually exists. In fact, my dictionary doesn't even recognize it as a word.
[ en.wikipedia.org ] to know more

Also, you don't 'terraform' a facility, any such facility would be self contained and already livable.
No one can claim to know whether it's possible or not... I suggest we drop it.

ALienZed,

I mean Homo SAPIENS SAPIENS, AKA MODERN MAN. like US you know' not evolutionary ancestors.
-->from the your very own website that you link and probly didn't even read....

" Homo sapiens sapiens: 200 thousand years ago to present "...

Wiki " 'cause i am too lazy to go through books

" The scientific study of human evolution encompasses the development of the genus Homo, but usually involves studying other hominids and hominines as well, such as Australopithecus. "Modern humans" are defined as the Homo sapiens species, of which the only extant subspecies is Homo sapiens sapiens; Homo sapiens idaltu (roughly translated as "elder wise man"), the other known subspecies, is extinct.
Anatomically modern humans appear in the fossil record in Africa about 200,000 years ago.

"The most widely accepted view among current anthropologists is that Homo sapiens originated in the African savanna around 200,000 years ago, descending from Homo erectus,..."

Compared us to Animals is nonsensical as we are a step higher in intelligence. For some of us anyway. It is not the same playing field.
The original point was that, which species will survived a nuclear winter/or a comet strike... and most likely it will be invertebrates, lichen/moss, and bacterias. Human will have a hard time surviving 'because we depend on the Ecosystem more than
we realized. 200 000 years we have been on this planet, we will destroy our own habitat, or actually change it so much that we will face Global Climate calamities.

Terraforming is effectively not a good word to express what I meant to say. By "Terraforming a facility", I meant rendering this same facility auto-suficient in its ability to sustain life. This mean an air filtration system (based on plants chose for their oxygen production capability), water and ressources recuperation systems, and plantations (mostly different than the air filtration system)that produces food for the people who live in the facility (hope you love soja though, because animals eat lot more more calories than what they produces).
