Bush ordered American flags to be run at half mast after Chief Justice Rehnquist died on saturday..

does anyone else find it strange that a chief justice dies and the president orders american flags to be run at half mast, but an entire american city is ravaged by a hurricane with thousands dead and the flag isn't lowered?

it isn't very hard when you've got more than 300,000,000 people living in your country.

I don't know if many people realise this, its kind of obvious; most of of New orleans is inhabited by poor and middleclass black people. The neighborrhoods hit the worst with flooding are the poorest neighboorhoods that were in the lowest lying areas. Why should Bush care about minorities that don't support his regime?

It shows in his actions towards the relief effort, one of the most important priorities was getting the oil refinery's working again.

I'm not saying there was a conspiracy to keep down the black people after the storm, I'm just saying he didn't feel a need to hurry and he didn't really care about the people. I'm sure they will have a big memorial once the get the situation more under control.

Bush: "Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans you say?"
Advisor: "Yup."
Bush: "Any Black Gold down there?"
Advisor: "Nope, just black people Sir."
Bush: "Right... Get me ten helicopters here now! ... ... ... Me and some friends want to go to Disneyland and ride Space Mountain. We heard a little black boy died on it!!"
