dmt is indeed a psychedelic. k is indeed a dissassociative, and therein lies the difference in the power of the two drugs. "So basically, you want to take a drug, which throws you into a whole brand new world, then combine it with a drug which dissociates you from the new world." i still get the feeling that you think that i am suggesting you combine the two drugs.. i am not. in your statement you expose a misunderstanding of ketamine. this drug certainly does open you up to a whole new world, one that is just as vivid and surreal as that of DMT, believe it or not! (but in a different way, and it does take a substantial amount of good quality ketamine for a k-hole of this type, of course) terrence mckenna believed that while on ketamine he could communicate with the alien species that created the earth and humanity. on the Discovery channel they sometimes replay an older TV show on ketamine. it is administered to people with weak immune systems (i.e. children and the elderly) because it is a very safe anaesthetic. it does not burn holes in your brain. i've read those studies and I believe they are BS. ketamine is routinely used in hospitals today. this discovery channel show explores how the people that were administered ketamine had near death experiences, out of body experiences and transcendence experiences while on ketamine! watch for this show. it will put you in touch with how mind-expanding a drug ketamine is. here is an article i wrote on ketamine: [ www.cs.mcgill.ca ] as i mention in the article, psychedelics tend to create hallucinations within the realm of human senses.. you might "see sounds" or "hear smells" or something like that and have lots of freaky shit happening all around you while on psychedelics but these sensations are still basically within the realm of human senses. the hallucinations of ketamine go far beyond that. you become omnipresent and sometimes seemingly omnipotent. it's like you've developed a whole new set of advanced senses, like you are some sort of advanced human or extraterrestrial (refer to Circuits article). it is hard to describe these sensations because at this present stage of human development/evolution we do not have the language or other tools to do so. now, i've got to add that there is loads of bad quality ketamine out there and all it does is confuse and bewilder you, and then render you totally immobile without giving you any of the powerful, mind-expanding transcendence stuff. so i can see why you might think ketamine is just funky heroin or something. ultimately, i think that both ketamine and DMT can be extremely interesting drugs if used properly. if you are interested in really pushing the limits of your mind and exploring alternate realities then they both deserve some consideration.. zeev: ketamine is most commonly used as a cat tranq. but it is also used on humans, pigs and other animals less frequently.... |

in hospitals(both animal and human) ketamine is INJECTED in SMALL doses, as a LIQUID. Internet articles (especially about illegal activities) are not always %100 accurate. and these cases of Olney's Lesions may be caused by poor quality(dirty) K... but there is still alot that is unknown about this drug and its effects. so if you want to be a lab rat for the side effects of Ketamine... then go right ahead. its completely your call. but to try to convince others to do so, i find ignorant. especially in the manner that you wrote that article... you mention the fact that k is safe, which it is not, though it is VERY hard to OD on it, and you probably wont die from ODing, you still are causing huge amounts of brain/nasal cavity damage every time you K~hole. I found your article to be based totally on your experiences with Ketamine rather then on fact. you may believe it to be a spiritual drug, and "enlightening" but you yourself said that "unfortunately little can be brought back with you through the portal," meaning that you dont really gain anything from the experience but the experience it self. and IMHO, your mian saving grace for me totally hating this article all together, is that you at least admitted the hugely addictive nature of the drug... "also be aware that k is quite addictive... the escape from reality it provides is something akin to that of heroin, only k is more mystical than sedative." a comfort blanket is a dangerous thing. far too easy to become reliant on it. I've seen a goa head going freaky and wanting to kill me for real (he had a big knife,damn i was freekin' out....),and kill others too.This guy was only doing psychedelics,but in total abuse.LSD,DMT,Shrooms and more,but in an everyday way,all by himself,creating evil inside its mind.Now the guy has been arrested and he's in a mental hospital.On the other hand,i have a friend who was doing k as others would do lsd,that wasthe buzz that got her high ,while lsd or weed or hash would make her feel dumb....It depends on everyone's system,the circumstances,the sets and settings,one's humour and psychilogical state,and many other things....We don't really know about drugs that much,neither we know about nature itself,so everything wecan try to understand or definite is made to be re-questionned anyway....This is the limits of human mind,and wisdom starts by admitting we'll never really know..... |

to each his own. personally i hate doing most pills, pcp, coke and crack. i'm more into psychedelics since these drugs seem to lead to something new, a more open consciousness. they inspire my imaginative paintings, musical idea and creative writing. but you it took me at least a year to start appreciating lsd, since i wasn't clear headed enough and it would only make me worry and paranoie even more. these days i am very comfortable with who i am and who surrounds me, being ZEN is the key !! |

I started in trance(as most do, S4 rocks da house) then fell in love with jungle, but was scared off by the sketchy meth head junglists... and found the loving community of Psy~trance. (Natura was my first all psy trance party) but was scared off by the brainwashing affect of Goa... fell back into jungle for a while, and finally found the hardcore community. which i call my own. though i love and respect all genres of electronica... ive never been much of a house fan. though there still is some awesome house(funky, tribal, tek.) i just like good music, and nice people. so any scene can be fun as long as you have an open mind. but there is a good chance that we've met, if you were into goa about a year and a half ago... |
