BENEFITS FOR USING MARIJUANA? DON'T BELIEVE IT

As a licensed addictions counselor and former drug salesman (as the
parole board aptly called me years ago) I feel more qualified than
either Schweitzer or Schneider (April 25 letter) to speak about the
benefits of using marijuana. Unless either of them has done personal
research like I have, by using this so-called wonder drug, I suggest
that they not show their ignorance.

It does not look good for a doctor or a farmer to wax eloquent on
matters that they know nothing about. My office is down the hall from
a "caregiver," so I see the "hurting" young people who come and go.
They are in so much pain that some of them run up the stairs to get
the stuff as their friends wait in the car. I haven't seen any "grannies."

I also work with adolescents who started their addiction journey using
this "beneficial weed." There are no benefits!
