Yeah but why do these people think that it is the truth? Because that's what they've been thought while they were kids...

And you're right saying that children need to be taught to question everything and develop a healthy skepticism. There should be theology courses instead of religion courses.

Some religions tell to people that the truth is something when that thing is not necessarily true. I remember having a quarrel with a classmate in elementary school. She was trying to convince me that humans come from Adam & Ève and I was trying to convince her that humans come from monkeys. Wars begun from such misbeliefs. And what about the muslims? They've been fighting for hundreds of years just because (correct me if I'm wrong) a clan claims that the immediate successor of Mahomet is Ali and another claims that it's the calife. Think about the crusades. Think about the christian fanatism in south US. Religion is really a brainwashing. It should be illegal to teach dogmas as truths to children.

One of the necessary steps in human evolution is the disappearing of religions, so ppl can concentrate their thoughts on understanding the real world instead of believing extremely old, lasting myths.

Great post! :)
