Go Montreal!

In either case the both of those two are hopeless against Ottawa this year, but with the standings the way they are you might make it to the conference finals before going out.

I can't make it anymore...

That makes me want to kill myself.

My curse for not being able to catch Enduser playing out continues.

I loved the party before the bust. Awesome Venue, A+ vibe, cool sound/light set up, lazers, and all sorts of rave goodies like a wading pool filled with stuffed animals, an entire wall for freeform drawing/tagging/general rave message board...

I was excited to play, even more so with the timeslot shift in the upper room so that I'd be right after Luna-C instead of oper-lapping by 30m. (4-5am... How I love thee as a timeslot at raves)

I'm sure you guys feel terrible about all of this - Everything looked like it was going so well. I know that your make-up event and your "come-back" events in the future are going to be awesome, I know for sure that I'll be at them partying it up massif-styles.

Bonus points go to Drixel's set - I'm happy that we made excellent time driving out to Montreal so I was able to catch the last half of it. (Sarcastic and Reese Taylor sounded pretty cool too)

Yeah, Backstage is where the old VIBE and older Atomic used to be. They've done a few mods to it.

Beat Techno Church 2 in attendance, somewhere between 600-700 people there. Highest attended Ottawa party since two tribes 5 years ago. The only downer about the party really is that they had to use their fallback venue (Backstage) instead of signings the virgin venue. (they got cancelled on, so no need for that shuttle bus)

I arrived a little late, around 1am, had a lot of difficulty getting across the main room to set up the SOAP (dancesafe) booth. So jam packed everywhere! That was the story of the night for sure. There were HUGE line-ups to get into the venue, some people waited for like 2 hours+ to get in.

The sound was pumping, and all of the DJs booked played well. I liked Luna-C's set, but I think he played too much Happy. (for me, too much happy = ANY happyhardcore) The breakbeat hardcore/cut up/oldschool hardcore/jungle that he dropped was dope for sure though.

Blizzard Boys nailed it.

I was very happy with my set with the exception of the sound cutting out on me on my 2nd record. Got to lay down some dancible downtempo at the end which was defiantely satisfying.

The ending set upstairs was interesting, Dubstep.

The death of Epic Trance continues. Bigbeat/Dubstep/Triphop are getting big for morning styles. Le awesome.

The deco was really good. To fit that nintendo theme, there were lots of giant sewn BOO! characters, Mario world tunnels, clouds with marioworld faces on them, and someone even showed up in a full out bob-omb costume. (ultimate cool points for that, although probably hard as hell to dance/get around in)

Well done crew!

8.5/10.

Wicked! I definatly know that a bunch of Montrealers are heading up to Ottawa for this - being solid at 20$ now should make that niiice and easy - especially if all anyone needs to do is just e-mail you their names to be on the reduced price door list.

In Ottawa itself going afterhours in a warehouse (legally) is more or less impossible.

However if we arrange a shuttle bus we can go outside of city limits and have massive parties. Few promoters do this though because it's more expensive and takes a lot of intense planning to do them safely/professionally.

The last crew to use an oldschool style venue was mine (Underdog Entertainment) out in a church - the next crew looks like it's going to be 1upped and unfamiliar ceilings/Synergy Ottawa for "Here We Go" March 30th (2 rooms, featuring Luna-C, the Blizzard Boys, DJ Mad, and a bunch of DnB, Breaks, Hardcore and Trance)

Most of the crews just stick to afterhours clubs though because they're easier to do.

The only regional DJ I know who packs a ton of it and plays it on request (depending on what type of gig it is) is Mike James. I have a small collection and dabble it into other sets, but have never done a pure tweaked out acid house set.
