I picked up the Chocolate Wheelchair Album today... it's the jazziest stuff I've heard from in a long ass-time.

Peep the samples:

Copies should be winging their way out to some local stores this week.

the Ventriloquist Snakes remix of Necro can be found on the second Criminal comp that Planet-µ released...

Here's a link to the details... they've also got a sample online...

I don't know if the actual flyer is kicking around online - but here's a link to the source artwork: [ www.pileup.com ]

Well... last time Venetian Snares played out here the flyer was a Trevor Brown image of a girl peeing in a urinal. That was some seriously hot shit, and I'm proud to have had my name written on the bathroom wall.

This flyer definately isn't as hot (but what, may I ask, is as hot as girls standing up to pee?)... but it's, dare I say, a little classier.

Maybe I'm just stoked 'cause my name is on it... I mean, this will be the fourth time I've played at the SAT, and I'm pretty sure all the other gigs have been unannounced... I mean, it was awesome as all hell to play after Squarepusher - but it sucks that most people weren't really advised it was me (or maybe it doesn't suck - 'cause I could hardly hear a thing after mr. Jenkinson's high-end assault).

The thieving bastards at [ www.noisefactory.com ] sure have a way of describing what they're all about. Impressive.

Anyhow... I'm headed back to Winnipeg for a Hallowe'en show that looks like it's gonna kick some ass ( [ symptomtech.com ] ), and I'll be bringing back even more crazy records from the archives. With all the new stuff I've been picking up, and all the old stuff I've been retrieving... I'm starting to feel that I'm getting my vocabulary back. I'm looking forward to really being able to start showing people what the fishead experience is all about.

It's a label from France that has the same name. I'm pretty sure that it's a coincidence, and not a case of outright theft. Then again, maybe people in France are scouring release sheets looking for labels to steal names from in the hopes that they'll gain an extra five or six sales due to confusion.

It also looks like they're not the only ones. Do a quick google search and you'll find people all over the world ripping off the Noise Factory name... So far I've dug up thieves in Japan, England, Italy - and even the United States. There's even an ARTIST called Noise Factory on [ discogs.com ]

It's a global conspiracy! I bet if I keep digging I'll find Noise Factories in remote places like Madagascar and Greenland!

Are you talking about gangrene, or tetanus?

As for the flyer, it seems to be along the same lines as the label art for the Pressure Sores. I'm looking forward to the insanity.

Gangrene and Iron Maiden in the same fuckin' week?? Awesome.

Fuck... I was one of those things that got smashed on Tuesday night. I'm not sure how I was able to continue functioning.

Somehow I managed to make it to work yesterday - and even made it through the entire day. Crashed for about twelve hours when I got home.

I was so wrecked that I started asking people what they wanted to hear because I was having trouble coming up with ideas on my own.

something didn't work first time around... let's try this again....

As far as the snobbiness goes, I try to disregard that aspect of everything. I mean, I used to go off about how hard I was gonna play - but for me that was more about building antipation... not being some sort of stereotype.

In hardcore circles there tend to be a lot of "I'm the hardest" sort of arguments that come across like some sort of dick size comparison... and what it all boils down to is this... the only thing you can ever be sure off is that you've got the biggest dick in your pants... if you can content yourself with that - then you can be happy.

Personally, I'm more interested in being abstract than strictly being hard... if there's no light then everything is just shades of grey - throw some contrast in and then people notice how dark some of the stuff is.

"hide my head I want to drown my sorrow... no tomorrow... no tomorrow."

awesome track, btw

In all seriousness, Autechre might have been one of the heaviest shows I've ever seen. They played in Winnipeg while touring for Tri-Repetae and the kick drums in their live set sounded like they were lifted from Ministry's Twitch album. It was incredible...

That said - for those interested in delving further into electronic music history here's a link to an article an old friend of mine put together a few years ago:

Attack! is going to be demented. Huren has done some truly legendary work (The Wipe by Teste, for example) and is more than capable of blowing minds.

Glad to hear it was appreciated by those that were there to hear it. Now I'm gearing up for Attack - which will, hopefully, be a much more profound display of sickness and depravity.

beat juggling at 300bpm is fun.
