None of you people have any idea what people go for unless you specifically ask them. I am constantly amazed at how much assumption goes on in here. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, everyone does what they do for reasons of their own. People like people.

Personally I think of chess when it comes down to reasoning.. One should always have at least three purposes/reasons for moving a piece in chess.

1. To cover one of my own pieces
2. To open up one of my pieces for a future move
3. To place an offensive piece in danger

These are very general reasons, but none the less, if you cannot find three reasons to move a piece it should not be moved.

Everone has whatever reasons they have for doing whatever they do, and by labelling people into steriotypical roles such as those stated in this thread just makes about as much sense as Futurama.

So you, whoever you are, don't like this event, don't like the people, don't like the drugs, don't like the music, don't like yourself?

I have my tastes, I like what I like and hate what I hate, but I am always open minded and will never prejudicially stereotype people I have never met and parties I have never attended because that just fits me into one of thosee stereotypical asshole roles.. Which I'd rather not do.

The event sounded great, I was elsewhere that night at Rewire which rocked. But had I the hance to wade thru the masses at this fine attempt at an event.. I would be there in a second.

well first things first..

[ rave.ca ] is a two column site (unless you count the {defaulted off} rim system)

random pictures and surveys in the same location as here..

radio station and advertising in relatively the same spots..

Seems to me very commercial and specific, I'm not a serious enough drum and bass fan to force myself into yet ANOTHER community... Add that the my existing 450ish site/forum memberships..

mho

IT's those who continously dole out negativity that are the true losers. If you don't like someone. ignore them, by continuing to badger and rant you are only reinforcing their desire for attention and showing yourselves to be the truly negative and unlikable ones..

the interaction comes from the music and the crowd.. if you spend your time watchin the dj for dance move cues then you may as well be watching videos with no sound instead of dancin to audibles.

The chill in no place to throw a party unless you plan to have a solid 100 people all night and you're happy partying in an apartment. It's an after party joint and without some serious investment it'll never change looks enough to be anything else.

Simons party was fun, I VJ'd by layin off some opengl visualizations to play via winamp.. nothing serious but it kept the one tv screen busy.

An odd collection of age groups however really suprised me.. from barely legal to barely senile.. wtf? lol

Careful next time you try throwing an equivelant event Simon, I'm sure you did not quite come out in the black... But c'est la vie. Keep scouring those chocolate bars for another golden ticket!

:D Fantastic Rave! Best turnout of all those i've attended so far. Great people and smiling faces everywhere, sweet vibes! It's nice to attend an event that keeps so many people right to the very end. I think that if the doors to outside had been opened for a little bit (those which are on the upper dias leading to the stairwell) the hot air and ceiling moisture would have dissipated a bit.

I was a bit dissapointed that all the bean bag chairs were in room one.. I like the chill ambiance of rom two, even tho it's so loud you can't really chill anywhere. Every rave deserves an ambient/quiet chill area.

Glad to have finally met the invertibrates, great stylez guys, you're all mad liquid! You're boneless! lol

Phonolites Deco really helped bring an aura to the venue that it lacked at previous events, so much black light and fabric, so many glow sticks everywhere, I've never seen so many at one event!

QUOTE - "Ecstasy is MDMA (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine. It belongs to a family of drugs called “entactogens”, which literally means “touching within”. Other drugs in this category include MDA, MDE and MBDB."

QUOTE - "These days, the term "ecstasy" is used to describe just about anything sold in pill form at raves with a logo on it. Traditionally it was used to describe the chemical MDMA, which was often sold in the form of logo-bearing tablets. But as MDMA was made illegal in the mid-1980's and the demand for it increased, many different substances started to be packaged in this same form ... all of them still called "ecstasy"."

Based on what i've interpreted from the sites I research on such as Erowid etc. My understanding is that "Ecstasy" is a blanket name used to disguise the contents of a pill beings sold by someone without enough experience to educate their clients to the differences between chemicals in the family.

Here is the list of names specifically used for MDMA:

MDMA
MDM (older references)
N-methyl-MDA
3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine
N-methyl-3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine
N-methyl-3,4-methylenedioxyphenylisopropylamine
N,alpha-dimethyl-3,4-methylenedioxyphenethylamine (Pre-1972, Chem Abs.)
N,alpha-dimethyl-1,3-benzodioxole-5-ethanamide (Current, Chem Abs.)
N,alpha-dimethyl-homopiperonylamine (Archaic, Chem Abs.)
N-methyl-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-2-propanamine (occasionally)
2-methylamino-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-propane (uncommon)
N-methyl-beta-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-isopropylamine (uncommon)
N,alpha-dimethyl-beta-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-ethylamine (uncommon)
EA-1475 (Edgewood Arsenal)
DEA Control #7287: MDMA HCl (racemic)
DEA Control #7405: MDMA
DEA Control #7406: MDMA (racemic)
Chem Abs: [66142-89-0] S-(+)-MDMA
Chem Abs: [69558-32-3] S-(+)-MDMA HCl
Chem Abs: [81262-70-6] R-(-)-MDMA
Chem Abs: [69558-31-2] R-(-)-MDMA HCl
Chem Abs: [69610-10-2] MDMA (racemic)
Chem Abs: [64057-70-1] MDMA HCl (racemic)

MDA, MDMA, MDE, MBDB and MMDA can all be roughly grouped together as a class. It is especially important to be familiar with MDA, MDE and MDMA and what effects distinguish them since these chemicals often show up on the market.

Considering MDMA the prototype, then MDA tends to be more psychedelic with more of a tendency to induce visual hallucinations. MDA is also more 'speedy' with more jaw-clenching and other side-effects. MDA also takes about 1.5 times as long to hit and to come down off of as MDMA. MDE has a similar chronology to MDMA (perhaps shorter), but is somewhat more stoning than MDMA, but has equal or less side-effects as MDMA. MDE may be responsible for the "Heroin in Ecstasy" myths that abound. MBDB seems to be the closest in effects to MDMA, however it does not appear often on the illegal market (particularly outside of amsterdam). MMDA seems to be similar to MDA in that it produces stronger visual hallucinations than MDMA, however MMDA seems to be totally unknown on the illegal market.

It is common when buying MDMA to get a combination of any of the following : MDMA, MDA, MDE, Caffeine, Dextromethorphan, Ephedrine, Glyceryl guaiacolate, and phenylpropanolamine. A chemical analysis of a variety of "hits" of MDMA found from 0 - 100 mg of MDMA as well as a variety of the above substances. Trying to calculate dosages from tablets containing unknown quantities of MDMA can be difficult, but a good quality tablet of street ecstasy generally contains an average of between 75 and 100 mg MDMA.
