I guess it's about time I weighed in, even if it is my own party...

Thanks to everyone that came out, and made the night fucking awesome. I honestly didn't know there were that many junglists into old school still kickin' around Montreal. The fact that I didn't know so many people just made it that much nicer. I had an amazing time, special thanks to Recoil and Mayday for playing sick sets. And an extra-special thank you to Jordan Dare, for coming out of 'junglist-retirement' for this one event, if it wasn't for you Jordan, I wouldn't be the dnb-geek that I am today.

This was my first attempt at doing an event like this, and my first time doing anything at Zoobizarre, I think the club was really happy too, so with a little luck, we'll do something again along the same lines very soon.

Once again, thanks for coming and skankin' up the dancefloor and drinking your faces off....and making me play one more tune ;)

For the record...just because the shooting happened in front of blue dog OR blizzarts doesn't mean that the people involved in the shooting were at those clubs. I'm sure everyone will agree that when you're walking up st-laurent on a fri/sat night at around 3am the street can get pretty clogged, and you end up stopping along the way, either to eat, or to chat with randoms you bump into. I'm just saying, let's not jump to blame any specific venue for breeding this kind of violence, they could have come from anywhere.

Le Piknic Électronik désire clarifier la confusion entourant l’arrivée d’un nouvel événement sur la scène électronique montréalaise : « We Love After Piknic ».

Depuis sa création, le Piknic Électronik a toujours collaboré avec la scène montréalaise, tel qu’en font foi les nombreux partenariats et associations développés depuis 7 ans, que ce soit avec des étiquettes de disque (Ninja Tune, Iturnem, Musique Risquée, Archipel, etc.) ou des soirées de toutes tailles (The Goods, PomPe tes PiPes, Fricoti, I Love NEON, etc.). C’est aussi dans cet esprit collectif et de solidarité que le Piknic Électronik a fondé Le Regroupement, une association de festivals montréalais composée de MUTEK, du MEG, de Pop Montréal, du Festival Fringe et des Escales Improbables.

Fidèle à notre réputation, nous avons encouragé et encourageons toujours toutes initiatives pour assurer la diversité et la pérennité de la scène culturelle montréalaise. Toutefois, malgré les nombreuses demandes, nous nous sommes jamais associés à aucun événement se déroulant les dimanches soirs, "After" officiel ou non, pour des raisons qui nous appartiennent.

C’est pourquoi, par ce communiqué, nous tenons à préciser que notre organisation – Le Piknic Électronik – n’est aucunement liée, ni de près, ni de loin avec les organisateurs de la soirée We Love After Picnic.

Nous saluons l’arrivée de nouveaux événements organisés par gens motivés qui ont à coeur la scène électronique. Tant mieux si quelqu’un propose une alternative viable aux pikniqueurs qui désireraient poursuivre leur journée. Cependant, nous trouvons regrettable que le promoteur de cette soirée utilise notre nom, sans notre consentement, pour mousser son événement. Nous trouvons aussi regrettable que le promoteur prétexte qu’il a conclu des ententes avec nous ou que nous avons donné notre autorisation pour impliquer d’autres acteurs de la scène montréalaise dans son projet, alors qu’il a tout faux.

Nous avons mis des années à développer le Piknic Électronik, son concept, son image. Nous désirons donc nous dissocier de cet événement sur lequel nous n’avons aucun contrôle, il va de soit.

Sachez que l’objectif de cette mise au point n’est pas d’accentuer la polémique déjà existante, mais bien pour rétablir les faits. Merci de votre compréhension.
