Double A lives in Halifax now, he's a teacher I believe, but he still plays out.

Twist is indeed Tiga's manager, he lives in London now, I believe he also manages Booka Shade, Erol Alkan, and some other major artists.

I regret to inform you that we have been forced to cancel tomorrow’s event taking place at Lambi. Unfortunately these things sometimes happen. In simplest terms Teebee’s US Visa is not yet sorted and he may not be able to re-enter the United States after the performance, so the decision was made to cancel. Teebee is very very sorry and takes full responsibility for this; it was only made clear to Circle Management and myself as of 1pm today.

These facts, coupled with the venue’s need for us to start the event later has brought us to the conclusion that it’s best to cancel the show altogether.

In Teebee’s own words: “Corey is someone I DO NOT want to let down, but this is bigger than just missing a gig….This is about my marriage and my future…I can at this point, not afford to take the risk. Believe me, no one is more upset about this than me! I HATE missing gigs and letting fans and promoters down, but this is totally out of my hands.”

Please know that Teebee, The Session and Circle Management have tried every possibility to rectify the matter, however there is simply is no way to ensure Teebee’s entry and return to the US, and we only resort to cancellation when there are simply no other options. We were all looking forward to a triumphant return for Teebee to Montreal since his performance here 3 years ago, we remain determined to clear up these issues in the near future, and rescheduling the event.

When we called Sarcastic to invite him to play, that weird thing happened where he picked up the phone to dial out at the same time, resulting in confusion for the first 10 seconds or so of our conversation.. Our verdict? Him coming to play at The Session was meant to be. Though mostly known for his forays in the world of Techno, Sarcastic has a refined taste of the old school when it comes to Jungle/Drum and Bass. We used the word 'eclectic' when speaking with him over the phone which we immediately took back because we pretty much hate that word when describing DJs more than anything. He said he would play only on the condition that we not use that word when making our write up.

That being said, this coming Tuesday we are all in for a real treat as one of our fave DJs in the city touches down with a broad, varied, wide-ranging, multifarious, all embracing Jungle/DNB DJ set.

...And we assure you, this will be anything but eclectic.

Chances are you have crossed paths with Jonny Jungle at some point in Montreal but if you weren't around back in the day when he was holding things down in the Jungle/Drum & Bass community, him and his trademark cool, collected self have likely breezed by you dozens of times without you being the wiser. Semi-retired as of lately, he's remained in disguise a majority of the time like Superman in his own DnB Fortress of Solitude. His cover? A soft spoken, humble bar owner often seen with an extremely stylish beard and/or moustache.

Not only did he agree to grace us with a set this coming Tuesday but it's also thanks to him that we get to run wild in his bar on a weekly basis to music that, we fully admit, is completely insane. So if you get a chance, buy him a shot or shake his hand...or something.

If you have been to Bassdrive Wednesdays at KOI, then we don’t have to introduce you to VILIFY. For those of you who haven’t, she is the resident DJ and promoter - alongside Construct - for what easily shaped up to be the best new club night in Montreal in 2009. Vilify reps Dubstep in this city to the fullest, so much in fact that sometimes it’s easy to forget what an absolutely tearing Jungle/Drum & Bass DJ she is. Make no mistake, her tune selection is solid, her mixing is tight and when it comes to overall enthusiasm for the music that we love most, she has definitely shown us old school geezers a thing or two.

Be real delicate with those Noah, they are chauvet 'black shadows', we have tons of them at our office (we are a chauvet dealer) and the bulbs can crack real easily during transport. The good news is, I can confirm that you're right, they have A LOT of coverage. They also don't draw too much on power, i believe they have a 3amp or 4amp fuse, so you can easily run 4 units on one individual circuit without blowing the breaker.

UK Drum & Bass Legend Marcus Intalex helps us inaugurate a new beginning for drum & bass in Montreal. If you don't remember the last time you saw Marcus, that's ok, we do. It was 2001, and that's far too long to wait for a guy who puts out insane music on a regular basis. Responsible for bringing you Lynx & Kemo's critically hailed album 'The Raw Truth' on his legendary label Soul:r Recordings, as well as shining a light on dubstep's most recent hot commodity Martyn, on his other label Revolve:r Recordings, it's amazing he has any time to make music himself. But does he ever. Alongside partners in crime Calibre and ST Files, they form MISTiCAL, and 'The Eleventh Hour' LP which dropped last year is just the tip of the iceberg. Marcus has also collaborated with every big name in the business, from Klute to DJ Marky, and from D.Kay to High Contrast. Beyond that, he STILL manages produce solo material for the likes of Goldie's Metalheadz label, and DJ Friction's Shogun Audio. Still want more? Come to the show and see what's next.



DJ Hosta [Komodo Dubs]

DJ Hosta, the dark, crazy and self-loathing half of Komodo Dubs, hosts a deep bass club night that happens regularly in Montreal. This night is an excuse to play dubstep and other bass-heavy sounds. The night features guest DJs who bring their own take on the dub-bass sound, be it dubstep, garage, dancehall, dubwise, jungle, d'n'b, grime, roots reggae, dub techno or something else that is so heavy and new it doesn't even have a name yet.

DJ BUS is a new-comer to Montreal however he's no new-comer to British street music. He earned his stripes pushing Grime and Dubstep in Ontario and moved to Montreal in September 2008 to start E.S.L. Production's, the company responsible for "MTL FUNKY" which plans to continue with Dubstep, Garage and Bassline events in the future.
