honnestly dude don't go with M-Audio. the preamps are not crazy at all and the output quality is not that good. personally i tried the Focusrite Saphire LE and it's a very good card. the TC Electronic Konnekt 8 looks pretty good also and they are around the same price (around 350$ each).

i own a Firewire 410 and i try to keep my money to buy a new one...

personaly i use Ozone 3 for mastering and it sounds damn good

i didn't read the thread @ all but the only thing i would like to see is more live sets from local producers (i'm not speaking about myself). this city is full of talent

i do believe that you can do really good stuff in Live but i wonder if:

- i will produce as fast as i can with Live

- is it gonna sound THAT much better (cause like fred says "quality of the producer over what software they use and all that" and i mean a real difference


cause i already own Live and i really like it and i believe that with a home-made "master" (Ozone 3 in my case) it sounds pretty good

that stuff is so cool

i look at the specs and my guess is that they improved the audio engine. they recommand a G4 1Ghz with a 1Gb of ram. we'll see...
