| Description: | Come RECESS @ MYPLACE 2XA presents CHRIS MURRAY Sweetbeat Productions : [ djchrismurray.com ] Chris Murray has been a long time supporter of the house and underground music scenes in Atlanta, the Bahamas, Ottawa & Montreal. Starting off as a promoter and event planner, he picked up his DJ headphones around 3 years ago. Since then he has been creating diverse sets which bring together a blend of tech & vocal house, influenced by his underground & native Caribbean roots. His influences include Danny Tenagalia, Green Velvet, Victor Calderone, Mastiksoul & Peace Division to name a few. Recently Chris formed Sweetbeat Productions, which puts on the annual Floating T-Dance in Ottawa, and a monthly event in Ottawa called RECESS! These events aim to bring a more cutting-edge sound to Ottawa that is purely focused on beats, dance & party times. CHIA Slanted Black-USA : Episode Records-Amsterdam DJ Chia is a performance artist with many talents, a musical "jack of all trades." Born and raised in New Jersey, his music reflects the diverse ethnic environment of NYC/NJ and features influences from the eclectic sounds of disco, soul, and garage, to the thunderous rhythms of house, dub, and techno. Since 1994, Chia has been producing underground dance music and playing parties at clubs, bars, afterhours, and other private events. With 15 years of experience under his belt, he has rocked crowds in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Chia is known for his distinct tribal sound, and for his ability to re-interpret old and new classics into fresh renditions on the fly. His remixes have featured legends such as Alan T., Octavia St. Laurent, and Björk, amongst others. He currently produces music for Slanted Black Records (USA) and Episode Records (Amsterdam). Chia has made Burlington, Vermont his home base, but he lives on a self-proclaimed "axis of evil" between the cities of New York, Burlington, and Montreal. In the next year, DJ Chia plans more musical madness for the masses, a European tour, and a foray into the new medium of VJing (video jockeying). With MYPLACE's vey own GRÜV warming up the decks.
