| Extras: | DEREK PLASLAIKO Poised at the vanguard of North American techno DJs, Derek Plaslaiko quietly paid his dues in Detroit as a crucial piece of the legendary Analog parties - and eventually as a resident at the legendary Motor night club. His versatile and tasteful sets steadily increased his demand on the Midwestern club circuit, where he shared the stage with luminaries such as John Acquaviva, Kevin Saunderson, Ricardo Villalobos and Matthew Herbert. After being invited by Carl Craig to perform at the inaugural edition of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Plaslaiko became part of the original team of DJs at Detroit’s Untitled parties, sharing a residency with Tadd Mullinix and Matthew Dear. In 2004, Derek set up camp in New York City, determined to bring a slice of the Motor City to the Big Apple. He's gone on to become one of the resident DJs at the Bunker in Brooklyn, as well as an integral part of the monthly Wolf+Lamb parties, and was honored in the Village Voice 2006 annual poll as New York’s Best Techno DJ.
