1. check your target building. it should be the same height or slightly lower than your building. Be certain you have enough space to land and roll. 2. check the distance between the buildings. most people cannot jump more than ten feet, even at a full run. 3. Run at full speed toward the edge. you will need forty to sixty feet of running room to clear about ten feet of distance. 4. Jump with your arms and hands extended to grab the ledge if you undershoot your mark. 5. try to land on yor feet, then immediately tuck your head and tumble sideways onto your shoulders. |

1. if you are in a trunk that is up against the backseat of the car, try to force the seats down. 2. check under the carpet for a trunk cable release. many new cars have this feature. pull on the cable to release the latch. 3. look for tools and pry the trunk latch open. many cars have emergency kits under the spare tire, use a screwdriver or crowbar to open the latch. 4. Dismantle the car's brake lights by yanking wires and kicking the lights out. then wave and yell to a signal passerby or other cars. |

1. collect rainwater in whatever container is handy. a bowl, plate, or helmet will work- so will a life raft and streched clothing. 2. collect dew tie rags to your ankles and walk in grass or foliage at sunrise. dew will gather on the material, which can then be wrung out into a container. 3. catch fish. the area around a fish's eyes contains drinkable liquid, as do fish spines. 4. look for bird droppings. in arid climates, bird droppings around a crack in a rock may indicate a water source. stuff a cloth into the crack, then wring it out. |
