but it definately comes from the jazz though. regardless, what are the odds that African Americans could have modified European church hymns, folk songs and music to fit their own taste and traditions... and then passed those tastes and traditions on down the line. and all these adaptations on european instruments... why, thats the same thing as saying death metal has african roots because of the drums.
