This is pretty funny [ www.rave.ca ] Basdini, apprently he's a promoter. He's organized 8 events in his lifetime. Booked a bunch of djs which he considers "losers" to play his events and probably asked them to play for free. [ www.rave.ca ] He's also a dj (wow that really takes the cake, a guy who's a dj but thinks djs are losers). I see he's played a total of 7 events in his life (I'm assuming his own parties) [ www.rave.ca ] He's also made one track. Wow a producer too! Looked for any actual "dj" mixes couldn't find any. Last but not least he named himself dj Basman. I mean really dj Basman? are you for real? Why not go with dj Asman while you're at it? What a joke |

I don't think Djing makes you a loser, I just think that when it's all you have going for you, when it's the center of your existence as a human being you better be the greatest Dj in the universe otherwise that's gonna be pretty empty... yes i used to play, indeed sometimes I still play, but that's just it, it's for fun...i do it for FUN i don't define my existence around it... ... That is the truth. No help from anyone, especially not my parents. My parents are not well off at all. My Dad is a translator and my Mom a Ballet teacher. The only other jobs I have had over the years is working at several record stores such as Noize where I was a manager. I also worked for several years as a helper for handicapped students at Concordia university part-time but I didn't do that one for the money. If you don't believe me My current rent is $550.00, my hydro internet phone works out to about $200.00, I buy a metro pass for about $75.00 and I spend about $200.00 on food. Yes I smoke, and that is a luxury. My monthly expenses are around $1000 bucks, I easily make twice that on a slow month. My rates for a small places are $30 an hour going up to $100 an hour. I've even done gigs where I've gotten $500 for an hours work. Currently I have over $100,000 saved in the bank and you are welcome to come have a look at my bank statement, enough to buy a condo if I wanted to or stop djing for the next 10 years if I wanted too. I have been planning since day 1 I became a dj. BTW the way I also have a diploma in BUSINESS and I graduated top of my class, going back to university in the fall so finding a regular job would not be too hard for me.
