Try it out, go to a cocktail party with people with real jobs and tell them you re a DJ and see what kinda reactions you get... unless you are making hundreds of thousands of dollars and touring around the world as a DJ it's not an awesome job, do you have a dental plan? do you have pension? I think the answers to these question are both 'no' quit acting like it's soooooooooooooooooooooo fucking awesome, it ain't besides no one outside of montreal knows who you are, Tiga? yes, Mistress Barbra? yes, You? no i'm not trying to rag on you or rain on your parade or anything like that, if you like your life then that's all that counts, but please, please please, stop acting like you re some super star cause you get to play at pik nik, also please stop acting like you built 'the scene' (whatever that means) cause I don't know one person besides yourself that believes that's the case, for real, no one ever says to me 'you know who really built the electronic music scene that guy Bliss' not a once! Believe me people have said it about other people (and I will be more than glad to name drop who those people were if you like) but never about you... seriously if you were as big a DJ as you say you are you would have commercial releases 2-3 times per year and you would be on tour several months out of the year. Being a dj is actually pretty awesome, thats why everyone and their mom wants to be one :) BTW most of the best djs in the world are over 30 Its funny how you shit on a whole artform as well as insult quite a few people in the process, speaks volumes of the level of respect you have for the scene and pretty much shows you never even really understood whats its all about anyways. And yes people do know me outside of Montreal, unlike you I have travelled the world and I've had a site for over a decade, been doing this over two decades and I release more mixes in a year than most djs in this city do . Just my night the Grill was known all over Canada and the UK and my Voyeur night was also known worldwide. The Grill was ground zero for Montreals modern day breaks scene, Voyeur was ground zero for Montreals modern day electro scene. I have never said "I" built the scene either, I have no idea where you got that from. I said its "people" like me (do you understand the word people?) who built the scene you now enjoy and there is nothing untrue about that statement. The scene today would not exist without the work of people who came before. So I dont really know why you think that you are someone exceptionnal with your 9 to 5 job, the 2 or 3 parties you attend every year where you ask yourself why you're nearly 30 and still hanging at parties you don't enjoy with 15 year olds. You and Masa are pretty much aging scensters thats about it. More importantly what have you ever done out side of bitching? Nothing. Zilch. Zero I'd say you're pretty much the only "losers" in this discussion. |
