if you tought my suggestion of Idiocracy wasnt old school :
know this i watched every "the vail", " twillight zone (comics incl.) " , " outter limits " out there , also xfiles, lone gunnman and warehouse 13 and i absolutely hate anything sci-fy from the start trek branches. many movies where based on the 50-current twillight zone and outerlimits series. and imo Idiocracy is a reenactment in all its grandeur of the genre with many many current hillarious joke depicting an impending idiocracy waiting to happen. its like im watching an old twillight zone with the outter limits voice guy beating the reason in the movie culture and society as this movie was somewhat "banned" from theaters , not an actual ban but one big levee on it . you anything into movie making , this should be either in your bank or your theses should be about it. plus its funny , far from full house funny. everytime im down i usually fire that mother fucker up. old schools ; prince of darkness in the mouth of madness lords of illusion chat noir chat blanc cherry 2000 class of nukem high toxic avenger communion with christopher walken doberman first version of misrine first version of gone in 60sec 4 rooms driller killer they live forest gump haxan slap shot (french) house by the cemetary in the army now attack of the killer concom leviatan lost highway soylent green stay tuned uhf jerky boys the lawnmower man (plus in the second allthough cheaply made, job builds reboot's mainfraime city) the satanic rites of dragula thx 1138 first version of willy wonka and the chocolate factory

some very impressive lists, here...
trying to avoid things that have already been mentioned... Altered States - academics indulge in hallucinogens and isolation tanks... insanity prevails! Angel Heart - Robert Deniro, Mickey Rourke and Lisa Bonet - plus some awesome old bluesman cameos! A Boy & His Dog - Don Johnson and Jason Robards in a no-budget adaptation of a Harlan Ellison book. Z00: A Zed & Two Naughts - possibly Peter Greenaway's finest moment. Charade - '60s spy-spoof classic with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Forbidden Zone - Herve Villachez as the ruler of an alternate dimension + Danny Elfman as Satan... 'nuff said. Hardware - cameos by Lemmy and Iggy Pop... plus a killer robot designed by Chris Cunningham. Eyes Without A Face - mesmerizing... dark, twisted and brilliant stuff. Silent Running - ok - the Joan Baez score sucks, but this remains one of the most visually amazing sci-fi films ever... with an amazingly prescient ecological slant. Bad Boy Buddy - essential viewing for anyone who loves transgression. Jesus' Son - junkie cleans up & goes to work with the handicapped... what? Jefftowne - "The adventures of a 40-year-old, beer-drinking, porno-consuming wrestling fanatic with Down's Syndrome." I'm quoting someone else so you won't think I'm making it all up. Peeping Tom - the hugely influential proto-slasher film that ruined Michael Powell's career... The Conversation - one of the most paranoid films ever made.
