hmm.. not gonna argue with one of the Kings of the dubstep scene ;) ... but since dubstep is really at half-tempo, it's at 70 bpm, and so it's conceivable that a dubstep song could hit 90 bpm, so double-time that, and you can mix it with D'n'B -- or is all dubstep faster than '140' automatically considered Drumstep ? (kinda like in Hardcore, give most Hardcore/Terrorcore an extra 20 BPMs past 200 and it's considered Speedcore, most of the time ... )

And, yes, once my kid learns his BPMs, I will bring him/her to a rave, under supervision, to make sure they take as little drugs as I did when I started ;) ... of course, I shouldn't have much trouble since I have no plans on having children.
I'm feeling you up right now..

pffff king of the dubstep scene, gimme a break :P

meh, not really, drumstep is basically half time jump up (although I've heard some stuff closer to neurofunk)

you've also got a bunch of producer making half time really deep stuff at that tempo like data, instra:mental, dbridge and such...

jus sayin' though, bout' 90% of dubstep is produced around 140... in fact I'd say more than half is exactly at 140... but there are some producers (especially producers from the breakcore scene) that are alot more loose bpm..

but like I said, I don't know anyone who produces dubstep at 70 instead of 140. It would be an absolute headache...
I'm feeling forward every thurs right now..

ah! mysteries solved xD
thnx :)

I figured most dubstep wast at 140, I just wasn't sure if the difference in the new terms that're surfacing were due to style or simply tempo (i hate it when tempo is the only difference between types of techno, don't see the point of creating a whole 'new genre' for 10 BPMs ) but I see that in this case it's a combination of tempo, style, and influence ...

I've brought all of my children to Eclipse 2006, 2007, and 2010. and they do just fine thankyou. my husband and i cut our teeth on rave when we were younger, and now that we are settled and married , both of us miss so much the joy/ bliss/ lightness of being that comes with dancing under an open sky. i dont want to get cliche - but closer to the divine. you know what i am talking about.
our kids love dancing and everytime they hear trance music they ask when we are going camping. they love shpongle just as much as i do. we keep them away from nasty behavior and show them and teach them peace love and respect.

Thats awesome. If more parents were like you we would definitely have less assholes in the world

Too many ravers nowadays behave like some dicks going to a hockey game, ie: foul language, homophobia, racism, retractable batons, death threats & genre dissing

Makes you wonder where all the PLUR went O_0
I'm feeling sunshine right now..
