Ok here's an interesting topic for discussion

Knowing what you now know about the rave scene, would you allow your own kid to go to a rave?

I think it would depend on a lot more factors than just knowing what goes on at raves.. For one, I would very much try to be one of those 'cool' parents that does more than just sit my kid in front of a TV and play games or watch shows, I'd actually RAISE my kid and not rely on school and TV to teach them what's right and wrong. I'd also encourage my kid's friends to come over and get to know them so that I can have an idea what their friends are like and how much I can trust them.

Then there's also having the experience that I have from going to raves/parties and looking up who's playing, who's promoting, what their track records are, what the crowds are normally like at the events of whatever kids are gonna listen to in 15 years from now.. I'd also probably end up going with my kid the first few times and try to get myself on the lineup while I'm at it

Depend...

- Not before 17 years old, why not 16? Because at 16 you still at high school.

- Not every fucking weekends! C'mon...

- It will be a nightmare if he come one morning asking me if the rave since is dieing. I will probably punish him very hard!!! :-P

- I'll teach him the way of the PLUR, lightstick fighting and avoiding the Jaded side, nahahaha

So, if he dont abuse it, ill be ok with that

Best answer in this thread so far! Your future kids are lucky, seriously.

My parents did something similar for me back in the days, at least drug/alcohol wise. I had my first experiences at home (for most) with my parents nearby to keep an eye on me and teach me about responsible consumption. It prevented a lot of trouble and bad experiences.

My mom knew I'd been raving for a few years, took interest and asked me several questions about it.

Then one day, she came to one all decked out in candy raver clothes, plastic jewellery and all. She had a blast, met a lot of my raving buddies and got a clear idea of what happens in these events from that point on. Having been to one, she was able to dispel a lot of myths and misconceptions about these parties and, I suppose, helped put her mind at ease regarding my weekend activities.

I wish more parents would be as curious, interested and, if possible, involved in their kids activities.

kids will do what they want.. i mean when you were young and your parents were like dont do this dont do that, did you actually listen? i sure as hell didn't...

then again i never had strict parents and they always knew what i was doing and where i was and they never cared... as long as i was honest !

Ok....So imagine if in 15 years from now you're casually browsing the net and you come across your daughter in a slutty pose with Anto...

How would you react?
