If your beside me, you have the freedom to look or go elsewhere if it distract you that much. @kire: Did you tried the army surplus on St-Laurent or maybe Canadian Tire? @Yoshin: I can always bring them home, empty the non-toxic liquid in my sink, rinse the tubes and put them in my recycle bin. I guess this gonna please mother nature. Are you doing the same with your deco? :-P |

Touché! I've only attended a few events organized by friends (which I don't think I've linked to my profile) other than Breaks/DnB/Jungle/Dubstep club nights. I do spend the entire time on the dancefloor, because there's no other place I'd rather be. I honestly don't have the patience to deal with under aged kids tripping out on all sorts of drugs and the whole "look at me, I've got the freakiest rave suit and props ever!" kind of thing. I guess I'm just getting old... Only thing that really gets me going in events is the music and it's direct effect on my body and mind. When I'm on a dancefloor and the music is pumping I truly feel free, nothing else really brings me that feeling. It's as if my body syncs with the music, I don't know how else to explain it. |

I'd appreciate if they didn't ruin my fun by assaulting my poi with their BODY, thanks! Seriously I'll be spinning in a perfectly fine space and there's always someone in the party who has to be looking in the opposite direction than they're walking. They SHOULD be hit, to learn to actually look where they are walking and maybe they will have better chance of not being hit by cars when they walk across the street in the future. They should thank me, I could be saving their life! :) |

Just wondering : isn't it possible to go to a party and do like 95% of the people there and just dance without the need to spin things around on a string ? |

| Coolness: 166500 | I dunno man, after all, as annoying as some might be, glow-sticks have been a staple in raves for a long time now, so why all of a sudden no one should use 'em anymore? Ok, they're wasteful and sometimes irritating, but no where near as lame as whistles! Like I've said, there aren't that many people who use 'em now, so I don't think it's an issue.
And if you want to point out their wastefulness, you have to admit that other things in raves are not much better ... I doubt that the CDs the DJs use are very bio-degradable. There's a bunch of electricity being used (and those big outdoor fests usually use Generators, which use ... gas!). Plastic water bottles. Not to mention, now correct me if I'm wrong, all those UV paint decorations, use almost the same stuff as they put in glowsticks. Etc. Not saying any of this is necessarily wrong, just sayin' that people should consider all the waste before pointing the finger to one particular culprit ... |

if for the moment, there are no alternatives... well nothing can be done. but turning green IS a good thing in the long run. get with the program... :) there were the SUMKIDZ from Om festival powering a soundsystem with solar electricity. and the people at open mind have contact with engineers who know how to create electricity using eco-friendly generator, not sure exactly how it works, and i have not seen it at parties yet. maybe they have not come yet to an agreement... but i do hope to see that system in action in the future gatherings. |
