i always find funny people who tries to trip other people with their glowstick by moving them all around other people face. they assume your on some sort of drugs and then you tell them you're not. sometimes the face they do is priceless. High or not, when it happens, I just keep a straight face for a few seconds, turn around and walk away. |

but seriously - don't have to call me dumb just because i want a certain kind it's like exports to natives, am i stupid cause i want an export ? the quality is alot better, the trails are nicer, i don't session for hours at a time and i don't string just at raves, its a great stress relief and fun for other things. the only people i know that hate glowsticks and can't stand the thought of them anywhere in their life is on rave wave. lol if u don't like when people string just look away, i'm always in a corner doing my thing, its fun for me and when people watch its cool for them, but i just personally like to do it if theres space. if people walk up to you n are like 'duuuuude check this out maaaaan' n start doing stupid shit without ur consent in ur face yeah okay thats annoying. but when someones doing their own thing by themselves in a corner what the problem ? it's not like you're gonna walk up to me n be like YOU'RE RUINING MY RAVE EXPERIENCE GTFO lol and landfills ? you're going to say i just consume and use and don't care because i'm buying a glowstick ? lol |

| Coolness: 166525 | well actually yes. everytime that you buy something that is made to be thrown away, you're a consumer that contributes to the problems of pollution, energy needs, and landfills in the world.
try LED glowsticks with rechargeable batteries. in that way you may still be really annoying to ravewave people when you hit them on the head, but at least you'll make a lesser ecological footprint. PLUR the earth too, because it is our dancefloor. (among other things...) |

i try to find ways to make life more 'earth-friendly' one situation at a time. i'm not gonna stop raving, but if i know of a way to produce, let's say electricity, that is more eco-friendly and that can power a soundsystem, or if we can rideshare, serve local fruits at parties, etc... it makes raving a sustainable activity. otherwise we're all just still a part of the problem, and we are all hypocrites for proclaiming stuff like PLUR... but this goes really deep, even making drugs is not eco-friendly, and the soundsystems, etc. glowsticks, though, are a real easy part to find a more ecological alternative. blablabla lol :) |

I'm pretty sure we've gone through this glowstick-pollution thing before o_O plus with the other thread mentioning the 'since-accident' ... wow, ravewave just travelled back in time! Yes yes, it's all good to think about the environment, and garbage and all that, but there are SO many things in our daily lives that we throw away, consume, pollute with, etc. that I don't find it necessary to shit on the poor guy who wants a fucking epic glowstick. They are so rare in raves/parties these days, that I don't think that two or three people buying 'em for a party is a big deal. How many people are driving to the same party? Not gonna tell 'em all to ride a bike! It's great that some people take these things into consideration, but it's personal choices ... I'll stop there before I get into an argument xD |

i would love to have LED glowsticks but i can't order online like masa noted =/ i have flowlights but they're way too godamn heavy, i hardly have much control with them. and if someone were to get hit with THAT they'd get knocked out cold lol again, and u dont string on a dancefloor... how many times do i gotta say it... anyyyyway! pollution is everywhere, and i definitely can't say that the chemicals in the high intensity ultras are anywhere near safe for the environment, but its not like im buying a batch of hundreds either... and the problem with finding leds and homemade or any kind of immitation glowstick is the feel, the weight and shit its gotta flow together its hard to stay in rythm with music when they're heavy or off. flowlights for that matter suck, and i've tried to make some leds with a led light and hollowed out glowstick that didn't work, i've tried alot of things tbh if it doesn't "feel" right its just not fun, its like riding a skateboard with 1 wheel bigger then the others, you can still do it but its awkward and uncomfortable |
