it is true that raves lack comfortable place to chill, more and more I find I got no where to rest my legs... there are some shady couches sometimes that I debate for over 45mins whether I wanna sit on it hahaha

and there may have been more than smoke in that room/building, many bacteria and fungi cause respiratory problems and coupled with the smoke, it increases the chances of having a reaction such as inflation of mucus membrane or an asthma attack.

tickets are nonrefundable, and Vince can be a dick

In all, it seems like it was just a bad night... everyone gets them at a rave or otherwise, I suppose you can be thankful that it didn’t happen for a huge event with a hefty ticket price...
I'm feeling punkadelic right now..

It's very difficult for me to go and enjoy Vince's psytrance parties now, because of the smoke. Props to him for dealing with the cops though. But last year when he was promoting a party of his to me, telling me and asking me if I was going to come, I asked him if there would be smoking inside (it was really getting to me). He said, in a way to humiliate me in front of my friends I was talking to, "what do you think, it's a fucing RAVE."

I've been going to parties for 9 years now. I don't need "RAVE" to be defined for me, how disrespectful, I know what it is. I just asked if there would be smoke, so that I could know if I will be ABLE to come and dance or not. Of course I WANT to.

I have muscle spasms in my eyelids. It's not blinking, it's mild symptoms of tourettes. Do you have any idea what the amount of smoke at these parties does to them? Then what it does to my voice (I'm a singer) and the assault on health in general (of breathing in smoke). Rave does not mean that we automatically are down with sacrificing our health or impose that on others.

In all the many parties I've been to since 2000, none of them had indoor smoke except these here. And you know what?? NO smokers died from cold lol. They didn't even complain. It was just what made SENSE. Smoke outside if the party allowed for that. OR, go to the designated smoking room. These parties were every bit as wild, if not moreso, than the ones here. Wild doesn't mean disregarding each others' comfort and health. The smoking laws are part of progressive social change. Smoking in parties isn't progressive, it's REgressive.

Going out in the cold to smoke doesn't make you sick. SMOKING makes you sick.

That's fine if you're a smoker, I'm not against them. I'm not against anyone who does any substances, but I'd prefer if they didn't give me some of whatever they're doing, I'd like to go to the party without having any quantity of substances forced on me. There are so many rooms and levels in most of these parties you coudln't close off one chill room with a window for smokers?? How hard would that be?

That would be the compromise. That would be reasonable!

There are a lot of people, who would want to be part of the scene, have been dancing for many years, want to come - and can't because we feel literally pushed out by the smoke.

There was a time (before only the last short amount of time) where I could go to a party and not have all my clothes including my winter jacket which isn't as easy to wash, reeking like smoke an all the chemicals in it afterwards. It's a few weeks after Continuum, which I loved, but my damn jacket STILL smells like smoke!! And another person there told me they hated the smoke too without me even mentioning it to them. This isn't an isolated thing we just almost never speak up about it.

Psymind was perfectly amazing and wild without the smoke! Not a tame party by any means. I'm happy I finally got to go to an indoor party and really enjoy it without my eyes getting all messed up and stinging by the end. I didn't hear any smokers complaining. Either they smoked outside or there was a room for it. Everyone still seemed very happy.

it's hard to please everyone...

we all have opinions of how things should be...

I don't think there is a right answer here...

Go to the events that please you, if that's a smoke free event, check the venu before buying your ticket...

as for the refund, I would of sold it outside, the organizer has a lot on his mind and a refund is the least of his worried...

keep it real psy-freaks :p ! It's all about the trance dance <3

its true everyone has varied opinions, but bottom line every single person i came with that night said it was one of the best so far, we even had a bunch of our friends come down from pincourt at 3 a.m. they were not planning on coming at all, if prism code can pull that off it's a boom in my books and it def revamped me, after continuum this was the party i needed ^^

that's a reason why i don't come to these parties much - don't feel like paying 30$ for something we do way better in our own basements. more freedom, more creativity, less smoke, more fun... :)
I'm feeling inspired right now..

So what do I do... rather than annoying you by asking to return both, I GIVE ONE AWAY, at my own expense, so a friend who wouldn't have come otherwise would come and see how wonderful your parties are. He though it was weak and left after an hour.

I have one left over and can't afford to give this one away. So when I go up to you at the party and ask to return it, because the nice gentleman at the door was scared to refund on his own fearing the wrath of Vince or something, you try to give me shit, saying you'll take 10 dollars for it.

Go suck a lemon. You're damned right you took it back for 20 dollars, but fuck you for arguing with me.

You're not going to get this kind of help out of me again 'cause of that, Vince.

And for anyone confused, I love psy-trance raves, and so does my girlfriend. We met at Eclipse, and we fell in love at a psy trance rave last year. This is what we do. But anyway, it's a serious fucking issue when my girlfriend has an asthma attack. It's only happened one other time. She's not a weak, fragile creature by any stretch of the imagination. The situation had to be utterly disgusting to set it off, and it was.

Fucking disgusting party, in my opinion, thanks to the smoke and lack of comfortable space to chill. If you have a problem with me saying that, go fuck your face on an icepick. :-D

maybe not raving nemore would be the solution dood.. air in a rave is thick and wet, not good for asthma.. + whatcha gonna do bout it, even if its a non smoking party people will still light up.
So if u cant handle that u should go grab a big breath of air outside,,, i mean seriously!!
I'm feeling topshape!! dance mode right now..

Eeeesh, when all is said and done, the customer is always right. I personally would listen to the people who make my events possible and try to find a solution that fits with everyone's best interest. I also don't believe in ever just saying 'no'. You need to tell people the 'why' of things and not just the 'what' or else you come off as a jerk.
Never forget that a person who dislikes something will tell 10 people, and someone who likes someone will only tell 2 people.

i never hesitate to tell morons who smoke on the dancefloor to go away when it's a smoke-free dancefloor. especially if all they are doing is stand in the middle with their arms crossed while speaking and smoking... poisonning the vibe, doing everything but dancing... it's called a dancefloor for a reason... and those people are breaking the energy flow.

hm. really? interesting... sounds like something they'd teach in a marketing class.
usually people who dislike something will speak because they want change. and people who like something will speak because they want to share the pleasure they experience with more people.

Yep, knowledge is power after all... It all breaks down to the fact that people like to complain. In any case, you have to respect the people that are involved with your scene or OBVIOUSLY you're going to start pissing people off. There is such thing as a bad business attitude and let's be realistic here, you don't organize events for yourself, you do it for the people (hey even if it's for the money, those people bring the money) so if you find yourself arguing with the party-goers, you better believe you're doing something wrong, or just sit back and watch your reputation self-destruct.
The rave scene rep is already the worst in the world, we're considered drug addicts and malicious trouble makers by pretty much anyone who doesn't go to the parties themselves, I'd ask my fellow promoters to be a bit more conscious of their actions and how they portray themselves to the world. You know, you can be cool AND be respected, or think you're cool by acting like a douche all the time to the very people that support you in the first place

I was obviously joking in that last post.
The smoke machine was on almost all night as well.
Things can get VERY stressful .. shit happens.
I don't really feel like explaining myself, but I do what I gotta do to make it happen.
