Hey Nick, you planted a virus in a thread on here about 6 weeks ago lol REMEMBER, when you were trying to infect mine, unsuccessfully I might add :P

It backfired and it infected a bunch of peoples computers including Recoils.

On top of that you've publically bragged about infecting peoples computers on several occassions, and including *gasp* right now lol...

thing is I dont know if he even uses that email anymore - I dont know how to get a hold of him to get taken off that contact list... he's just some dude who used to tune into my internet station a long time ago.

there has to be a way to stop em getting through

yeah...a bot hacked their account. All the sender has to do is change their password

oh ya I know that.. I just wanted to know why it kept getting past my blocked sender & junk mail filters on hotmail. I finally emailed the guy's address and told him he was spamming me 5 times a day and to fix the fucking problem cuz it was driving me nuts... he never emailed back, but the spamming stopped, so that's good

For the record my anti-virus recognized it as a virus, and its not the same as RECOILs. His anti virus is Kapersky which is one of the worlds best and it says its a virus

I'll go with Kapersky

haha well first I had to go to a net cafe and download an antivirus prgram - I forget which one - put it on disk and then install on mine, cuz it kept freezing my computer and making it crash, and wouldnt let me use my browsers. then once I did that and was able to get back online, one site recommended I roll back. so I did some system restore point which rolled it back to a a week before I got the virus.

suprisingly enough, that seemed to take care of the random Japanese infomercials. that was pretty brutal though. worst and creepiest virus ever! it was totally possessed.

after I did that, and then ran a bunch more virus cleaner progs, it got it back to a bearable state. there was still that re-direct virus lurking on there that sometimes acts up and fucks with google. but then not long after I got a brand new laptop for Christmas, so I started using the new one for internet and the old one for music programs, recording etc.. I'm still gonna reformat though, just to kill everything off once and for all

Hamish old bean, there's a solution to that actually. The viruses are all stored inside your system32 file and can be deleted easily from the command line, with only minor maintenance, by deleting this file. You have to be careful when you do it to delete in administrator mode because if you don't the virus may take over other files. You can delete system32 by going to C:\windows\system32 and dragging it to the trashbin. The more effective method is to type cmd in the search bar in the start menu, right click on the icon and go to "run in administrator mode". A black window should appear with a command prompt. You need to type del C:\windows\system32 to delete the entire folder. Confirm that you want to do it and all your problems should go away.

wow, another who cant make the diffence:

linux , as live-cd will permit you to do almost anything uninfected sice your running your os from cd , thus WRITE PROTECTED. only by acpi wizardry would one hack such a computer.

your mac osx is even more weak than winblows seven , vista and xp alltogether.

unless you run thoses os write protected from vmware and keep a close watch on your .iso sizes..

mac isnt prone from virus , stop trying to convice yourself your 2000$ is worth more than an intel machine , SINCE MAC AFTER 10 Y OF BLIND STUBBORNESS FINALLY WENT WITH THE MARKET BIGGEST AND BETTER MACHINE :: INTEL. rings a bell just yet ?

I've been working with computers for way too long (often in a troubleshooting role, I maintain a small network at a business) and I have never seen an OSX computer infected with malware... not saying it couldn't happen though but so far windows wins the malware award by a large margin.

its the god damn same thing .

youd run solaris or sunos whatwever youd say the same shit on a sparc station or ultrasparc 64 etc...

imo mac osx is a shame to bsd kind os , they stripped the goodies out of bsd and stack a sticker over their name with dumbed down fucntions of bsd. i have been using openbsd for as far as i can remember and they never had virus , yet they exist

but dont say mac ware is anything better than compatible market , if anything since they are around the market has only been flooded more with it like cancer , taking the basic idea out of what a home computer should be.

My Windows 98/XP 11 yrs old gaming computer had no anti-virus for several years and it got no virus, just some minor spywares. My Vista gaming laptop with anti-virus didn't get any treat yet, or they were detected before they get anywhere. If I was basing my conclusion on my machines only, I would say Windows has no problem with viruses and spywares with the help of a basic free anti-virus.

Most Linux and Mac fans deny the fact they can get treats too. Some of them got problems but never told anyone, to keep their favorite OS pride. The 'safe OS' thinking is then extended because people follow the mass.
