What exactly is getting annoying to you bro? Seeing people stand up for their scene?
You know it's over saturated with dubstep, but just wont admit it in defense of your weekly pals.

When you say " there's room for everyones tastes " that's 100% grade-a bullshit.
All these "forward thinking" music nights have all morphed into one giant dubstep machine.
There's no pie left for anyone else, get where I'm going with this? If you guys are so
forward thinking and eclectic, then why do you only see Dubstep headliners being
booked at these nights?

When you treat other styles as "side line" music, you're no longer forward thinking.

I'm feeling jesus right now..

There IS a lot of dubstep. And yeah the kids are getting into it. As are quite a few artists you wouldn't have expected it from at first, huh?

Yeah, some of what the kids do isn't quite perfected. Some of it I don't like, but same goes for some well-respected names in the genre.

Ok, so it's popular, and lotsa kids are perhaps getting into it because of it. Welcome to life. Some people will never outgrow that "wanting to fit in" phase, some people will prefer to listen to what they're told is cool, ... Some people are superficial. And well.. It's not exactly those peeps I'm hoping to see when I go out.

Roommie PonChalice first introduced me to dubstep, wasn't sold on some of it at first, but managed to find some that I like. Just so happens that thanks to Buddha Slinky, I got to see a few of these artists live. Successful events. I'm certainly not gonna give 'em flak now that they wanna branch out a bit.

Which seems to be the case in point; AC Slater's a nice booking, missed him when he was in town last time.

... STILL don't really know what I'm gonna hit on April 16th. I do know I'm heading to The Session @ Blizzarts now, for a couple minutes/beers. The promise of cookies and some good DnB is just what I need after all the work I did today :)

(^^)y!
I'm feeling peachy right now..

Last week at forward we had miss bijoux and mad-k, this week at salade sonique they have RCA, Xplo Yaz and Ralph B... Vilify plays dnb or jungle half of her sets, most of these weekly nights were never meant to be exclusively dubstep nights, yeah fine, dubstep is the core, the scene is effervescent, a whole bunch of talented producers and djs play a whole world of different sounds and YES there is room for everyone's taste, it's bass music and there is a lot of it to go around enough to fill the fucking week if you ask me!

and by the way, the only so called standing up for your scene I've seen you do in the past two years is giving people shit on the internet! Way to go! If you want a piece of the pie get the fuck up from behind your computer and bake a fucking pie!
I'm feeling lovely right now..

It's hard to bake pies when everyone goes to your night bro - it's scene politics and maybe here isn't the place to get into it.
And I never gave anyone shit, I just call it how it is. I believe the Golgonator started this particular fire.

Oh well.

Host...stop whining.

More nights means people will have to choose between them. Wich means that promoters will have to double their efforts to offer something good. Can't be bad in the end. I kinda agree with you on some points...but for me it's less a matter of "too much dubstep" as it is a matter of "too much of the same kind/vibe/style/wtv of dubstep". But it's probably me who's a music snob.

Better venues than Passport and Koï can definitely help too...
I'm feeling the bass right now..

maybe they can attempt to spell the (local) labels they promote correctly, then they wont have to spam
our events to feel less like idiots.
