In order to answer this question masculinity needs to be defined, for IMO a 35 year old macho retard is more of a boy than a man, especially if said "maculine man" tends to not know wtf he wants and sleeps around.
If your definition of manly is the extend of ones pilosity or the size of his muscles then that's just physical attributes and to that extent there something for everybody, even those who like puny men with 1 chest hair (i.e.: me, no joke) I personally believe that masculinity is rather defined by one'S tendancy to behave in a protective way, be it by taking responsibility and feeling a need to be a provider or in simple gestures like walking on the side of the street or letting your chosen partner enjoy comfort when it cannot be provided to both individuals. Many do it without knowing why they do it, the answer is simple, men feel the need to protect their loved one, it's only natural that they would put themselves in harms way (even as minimal as it can be). So yeah, I'm old school and to me, gallantry is key... then again, in a macho's point of view the gallant one is the douche who makes it harder for the rest of the "men" It's all very subjective. In other words: "Chaque torchon trouve sa guénille!" Meme les guénilles en silicones :P %Pr Update » Strik_IX wrote on Wed Mar 31, 2010 @ 11:24am not really.

so you're basicaly equating masculinity with gallantry. Maybe... but I think masculity is also defined by biological functions in addition to cultural behavior. For instance, while sleeping around is not gallant at all ( and makes you a jerk if you're coupled ), its biological basis is sound as it is part of the instinct of spreading our genes.

a feminine man will as much galant if not more than any kind of man
I agree with the "masculinity is rather defined by one'S tendancy to behave in a protective way" but that's pretty much it i don't think being nice to a lady means the guy is masculine, it only means he got something behind his mind ;) haha joking, kind of :P, though being nice even the gayest guy can do that, and it won't make him more manly Update » Daf wrote on Wed Mar 31, 2010 @ 3:01pm the question is kind of wierd anyway

From my own perspective, I prefer being sensetive, friendly and galant,
from a moralist perspective, this view is better. BUT IT DON'T GET YOU LAID *tears*
