not really.. In a sense it could be seen as one, and communication could be done using math alone, but it's more of a science or a form of observation than it is a method of communication (at least for us humans)

But isnt language = communication = abstraction of ideas? The word pony is not the same as an actual pony, it's an abstraction of one. Same goes for math: it's the abstraction of patterns. Math is not real, it's not physical, it's used to describe and symbolize concepts that are ancored in reality, even realities we're not even sure exist!

math is just our representation of something that inherantly exists in nature; we don't create anything mathematical, we discover interactions and use terms, numbers and symbols to catalog/study it.. The word Mathematics itself comes from the greek máthēma, which means learning, study and science.

People can't have a conversation by stating math equations and terms exclusively, they're things that are all used to describe interactions.

the mathematics as a whole science is not a language but mathematics have certainly a language with its codes, rules, symbols, punctuation and meaning which is used to explain or theorize about pre-existing conditions yes but it is still a code, a language.....

But that's just us giving words to the interactions of things that have been observed.. If we observe an egg being fertilized and an embryo being formed and assign terms to the stages and procceses it goes through, we didn't invent the proccess; it's something that occurs naturally and has it's own rules, we've just put it down in terms that can be understood scientifically.

Explaining something that naturally occurs doesn't mean we invent it, whereas language is something that we've created to communicate. Before humans and animals, there was no language, but there was math, it just wasn't defined as there was no one/nothing to observe.

you should know the definition of language. it is more complex that what you seem to think.

what you're talking about is natural language; the one that human use to communicate is one type of language.

you are confused screwhead.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that we didn't invent mathematics, we just invented terms to describe interactions that are naturally occuring, just like we invented the word "pony" to describe something that we didn't invent.

Mathematics isn't an invention, it's a discovery.

There is a specific 'language' to describe math and mathematical terms, and that IS something we created, but that's just us giving terms to things we've observed so that we could document them.

ok.... but the theory(still debated..) that math isn't an invention but a discovery have nothing to do with the fact that there is such a thing called "mathematical language"...

euhmm yeah as much we gave a non-inherent meanings to a mathematical term we did the same with for example "flower" a "thing" we observed so that we could communicate and categorize and document on them...

i still don't get why you were saying there is no math language...

& i really don't get your arguments!
