I like it and it actually cuts, but holy crap, it takes way more than the Cubase StudioEQ.

Actually no, I use Samplitude 8 with a lenovo t61 laptop and i have never had any problems with cpu load. Mind you, I dont load it on every tack of a 50 stereos tracks session, but i will frequently use it on say, 5 to 15 objects/tracks.

If it's loading your cpu, you can press the "proc" button in the bottom left corner and it will free up your cpu and bring the latency to 0.
I'm feeling morning departure right now..

I'm feeling lovely right now..

I'm on a Macbook Pro 2.4.. It's fine for projects early on but when I'm almost done a track (maybe 50-100 insert effects and 20 VSTis by then) adding a few MasterQs can give me trouble. I'll try the proc thing though.

..just do a mixdown then master the WAV.. mastering plugins aren't something you use on individual tracks, they're something you use on the mixdown as a whole..

You could also just bounce all your audio tracks down to WAV if things get too CPU intensive..
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

Yeah, I do that...and actually, most of my audio tracks are frozen at that point. Computer still struggles...My tracks have a lot of layers.
There's no way I could ever master a track without exporting a wav first LOL

Maybe on a quad core

You'd be surprised heh, the last couple of tracks I've done I had to do the full mixdown before doing the mastering and I've got a quad-core.. [ soundcloud.com ]

honestly I think too much is not enough.. i never render any synth, and even with layering, effects, distortions, eqs, compressors, i never get any lag on my dual core... maybe my shit is too minimalist lol

Everytime someone mentions freezing vst, I feel my pre-icore7 memories wrap their frail little pentium 3 fingers around my neck and choke me just enough to barf a 'lil in my own mouth.

I remember having to freeze around 10 vsts 7-8 minutes each... I had time to follow Peter Petrelli's latest adventures on the tube while doing so.

wow, i never freeze anything either.

maybe its because i actually have a quadcore!

but my massive crashes alot in cubase 5, but is perfectly stable in FL.... that wierd.

and works in cubase sx 3 too...
I'm feeling fidgety right now..

Cubase - I'm sure it's self-conscious and learns how to piss ppl off in their own special way.

Listen you fuckin nerds, how does fxpansion work with pc vst's???

I don't understand how it works, it doesn't detect pc vst's, when I thought that was the whole purpose...

I think no matter what CPU I'll have I'm gonna max it out. I try to avoid freezing channels but by the time a track is almost done there's no way around it. So many VSTis and inserts...

Deadfunk: the pirated version of Massive crashes a lot, the real one doesn't
