| I was at a science camp, we were all making these bridges and flying machines... I ran a BBS at the time called Maximum Entropy BBs and I got all my friends from the camp to login to it and check it out. I had a bunch of hacker files online. Almost all of them, the BBs was known around the world for that stuff. I made books of them and sold them to people in the camp... I wish I could find the article in the Gazette since the dude who made the files (Death Vegetable) and me were interviewed. I guess I was 13 at the time... I though it was 94 but I guess it's 93...
Death Vegetable is one of North America's best known hackers, having been interviewed on NBC, CBS, TBS, and CBC for his connection to a 1993 bombing incident in Montreal where two teenagers blew off their fingers. It wasn't Death Vegetable's fault. He simply posted public information about how to build a bomb onto an electronic bulletin board. He didn't ask the boys to build it. Nonetheless, it made him famous, increasing his status in HackLand.
And it's because of that BBs that [ Rave.ca ] was created since I wanted to continue the BBs theme after they started dying off and the Internet started taking over...
As you noticed probably from other postings... The old versions looked like a BBs...

and, i know fuck all in that domain, but what hacking has to do with bomb? I thought hackers only wanted to screw people over via Internet, not kill people? |

| Death Vegetable was a Chemistry student. He basically copied out his text books into a text file and put it online. People were not meant to make the stuff, it was just theory. He was a regular user on my BBs.
A group of about 5 people decided to make one of the bombs. It would have worked fine but two people got into an argument and one of the kids pushed the other one who was holding a bunch of chemicals mixed up. The thing ignited and BOOM. One guy lost like 4 fingers then other guy lost one or it was just severely burnt... A lot of the bombs are more of a fireball thing... They don't really explode but the fire won't burn out fast.
Hackers at the time were anyone who did stuff that didn't meet the norm. Using the PBX systems to call around the world for free, opening up the pay phone cabinet and attaching the yellow and blue wires which would give you a free phone call, sharing the algorithms that credit card companies use to create their credit card numbers to create fake ones and so on... |

or just don't make any ;)

| in the age of 16, i had 2 friend of mine that had the knowledge the do bomb, traps and desemble and resemble guns. but you can't share that information to peoples without bad consequence.

| ha! yeah, i had long hair too.. and i also got a copy of death vegetable's bomb schematics off a BBS at the time.. didn't actually try to make a bomb though :p
