i died when i read this thread name.

i have. i tryed it multiboot with xp/vista/7

beware once 7 gets in it can rollback your registration of your other microsoft os.

imo is shit, unless you have the legacy microsoft 16/32 bit emutator that should be bundled with it now.

same here , i tell ya , once you go 3 system boot this bastard rolls the other one on you.

it mingles with other partition registry , witch is a major flaw.

Meh. I'm not so much relying on retro compatibility. I guess I consider a new OS like a fresh new start.

It's like getting divorced and falling back in love with a whole new different girl. Hahahaha.

I can understand to be found it a major flaw when you have to work with old programs.

I don't thats why it doesn't really matter to me. I am just happy that 7 takes 50% less resources than vista!

its light i agree, but we need the mass to use all the functions else it will be taken away for the few of us that use them. ( i mean have them in instead of out - see i dont like computer / os that takes functions away from you in order that profiteering compagnies turn it into a console instead.

retrocompatibility example 1 - nes + snes (snes couldnt run nes games yet in the gamecube / n64 you can)
Update » cutterhead wrote on Wed Jul 29, 2009 @ 1:53pm
retrocompatibility success example 2 - gameboy -> gameboy colour ->gameboy advanced -> gameboy ds

the newer gen can always run the old cartridges. now thats proper developpement not aim to profiteering only.

Meh, I'm sure most of the programs I use will work. Heck, I tried installing Photoshop and games and such and it did, no problem. That's what counts, at least for me.

I'm fairly certain some smaller programs won't like the new OS so much but I'm ready to accept that.

do you run 16 bit and 32 bit programs ? (32 are fine, but what if in the next os release they wont ?)
nothing is compromise adding retrocompatibility , space wouldnt be compromised that much same as ressources..

thats my concern here. there is always a workaround , im saying they are adding roadblocks. (not at all lego blocks or milestone for that matter)

anyways , i dont use " home " or " family " dumb down editions esp. for that . and afterthe mess they did with the old progs in vista, i was expecting better from them after butchering us for more that 4 years. so ill disgresss

why blame the OS of ur softwares don't run?
blame the company who makes them for not putting out updates for their software

been using 7 since the 7000 public beta, now on 7100, all running smooth! i luv it.

I love Win7.. I was running the RC and had some problems with Ableton and latency, so I went back to Vista, but now that the RTM is out I'm really thinking of getting it and putting it back on.. I can't believe how amazing it runs.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..
