 Coolness: 685645 | well, let's say that, on average, a regular thread gets 10 views an hour, and a drama thread gets 50 views an hour, but by 15 people.
Now imagine if we had less drama threads, but more people. What if 40 people were regularly active on the board, and regular threads now get 30 more views per hour. in 24 hours with no user controll (where D and R are Drama and Regular views/hour): (D24)15 + (R24)15 = 21600 views in 24 hours of JUST regular users, had people not been scared away by the drama, not factoring in potential drama threads that don't get massive like the ones we currently have: (R24)40 = 28800 views Less drama = more new members = more activity overall. I'm doing this just thinking of the posts on the forum, but all those extra users would be going through image galleries, looking at profiles, looking at calendar entries, checking out DJ profiles.. It would generate Noah MORE money to put a leash on idiots than it does to just let them free. |

The general population out there already has somewhat of a negative idea of what ravers truly are (as opposed to the usual "kids on drugs who have all night orgies in dirty places" thing they seem to think we are) and those who decide to research the matter a bit on here are greeted to this goddawful mess of a message board. Someone tell me : when was the last you saw a thread that said "New here, just wanted to say hi" where the new person just got subscribed to the board and has a few questions ? A long while, right ? Can you guess why that is ? I most certainly can. |

| Coolness: 685645 | Yup. Every single other board I'm on has threads like that daily, even if the people don't become regular posters and just lurk.
I can't remember the last time I saw one on this board. Hell, Dogs on Acid gets threads like that regularly, and they're a right bunch of cunts 90% of the time, but the key difference is that it rarely comes down to personal attacks and flame-wars (with the exception of one member who dissapeared for 6 months and then came back and actually answered that he'd been in jail 'cause he raped his roommate when someone asked.. even provided a picture of his prison bracelet) And despite that, there's a regular, constant influx of people that, while they may not post regularly, they at least lurk, because there IS the occasional bit of good/interesting thing that comes up (which I usually repost here) or the occasional actual intelligent conversation/discussion. Here, what have we got? For the most part, trolling, drama and the random shit I find. |

 Coolness: 2604040 | I don't really care about the money made from the ads. I also think everyone grows up at one point or another. I'm always for giving someone another chance and then banning them back up if they don't follow. Once again, I didn't see freezer do anything wrong. What I did see was everyone bitching at him for saying hello. I think the new discussion board settings when finished (hopefully by next week) will help fix things up for everyone since there can be discussions which are moderated by the creator of the discussion topic. That way people who do wanna have very serious conversations will be able to without the drama and such. |
