It would have been an amazing opportunity for some local head, but...

What is the deal here? (I know you already gave an explanation Alex, but it sounds like there's some bad blood. Is it the fact that Montreal DnB DJ's aren't being booked or is there something else?)

It's directly about Montreal heads not getting booked to open for things like this. Everyone's going "huhh?" who booked this show and why was no one informed? I mean at least consult people about it instead of just taking something we hold dear and saying it's the "new hot thing"

We had Noisia here in 2004 when they we're just getting popular at a little place called Blue Dog anyone remember who that was run by? Well you aren't seeing there names here cause they just aren't getting called, which sucks for a lot of peeps who have payed there dues and deserve to be part of something like this.

Yeah, I can understand that completely. If I were Stabba and co., I guess I would feel shafted.

Then again, if I may throw my 2-cents in, Piknic, in my opinion, appeals more to the general public, and has a following of people who listen to Minimal House, Techno, etc. Like Intoccabile wrote, they'll most likely do something that will satisfy that crowd.

I'm disappointed to hear that some local DnB DJ's weren't considered, because it would have been a great chance to hear some great music and given them great exposure... But the other side of me says "What can you expect."

Either way, I'm sure it will be an awesome night.

OK Guys. C'est une soirée electro, limite break. Pas drum and bass.

I'm feeling balance finding mood right now..

is that a joke? the only reason they got booked was because of their fabriclive 40 mix and because they "calmed down" ? explain that a bit further [ please..ca ] right now you look like such a noob.

ok then. Don't get me wrong.

well hearing that there won't be any D'n'B is the biggest disappointment imo. Not to say I wont try and be there, but it will definitely weigh on my decision to show up or not. It's almost as disappointing as Elvis singing disco tunes.

Wow, that's fucking gay as hell. There goes my attending this. Their electro-house stuff IS awesome, but to have Noisia *NOT* play Drum and Bass is like having Tiesto NOT play shitty trance.

Your event = fail for the real fans, though on the plus side you WILL get to apeal to all the new bandwagon jumpers who listen to their "calmer" stuff because Vice tells them it's the latest trendy thing.

I'm also disappointed that Noisia won't be playing any Drum n' Bass. Hearing a little Drum n' Bass at Igloofest would have been a welcomed variety of sound to an event like this. But again, it doesn't surprise me. This to me is the equivalent of a Candy Kid going to see a AC Slater at Beat Me Up.
Still amazing, but not what one could expect. Oh wells...

And I dunno, Fred. You can't blame Picnik for booking for Noisia just because it's "bandwagon music recommended by Vice." If you do, you would also have to blame Noisa themselves for making "bandwagon music that Vice recommends", because if they weren't making that kind of music, Noisia would most likely never have been booked to begin with. Doing so would be like booking Bob Dylan to Reggae Fest (well not exactly, but I hope you see what I mean). ;p

P.S: Shitty Trance is a double-negative. =P

people calm down.I remember dj food putting some dnb at picniks.I remember SASE ONE putting dnb at picniks.I'm sure noisia will play almost electro / break set but,why you should be so negatives,A transition to dnb can be done! And for the reccord Mico !hahahah yeah AC SLATER at beat me up.Dude, everyone were hopping him to play freeform at a fucking club night. Things change and yes ELECTRO is mainstream and everyone is getting a lil part of it.Even NOISIA and guess what? it's not a bad thing.Everyone get bored of the same stuff, they change and we can't blame them.I'm glad Picnik for once didn't book a *crowd pleaser*.Noisia will be fucking sick ELECTRO,BREAK OR DNB.wtv.As for the dj'S not included in the project ,it sucks! Mayday should have totally play as an opener as much as Host one.But what do you want, it's like thatttttt it'S just the way it is.So let'S all meet there and drink like motherfuckers and HAVE FUN.Period

woooooooooh. I never said I knew the Noisia set. He'll play whatever he wants. And there will be dnb. I am pretty sure. But who cares what I think about his set, trust him. thats all. He've been booked for what he does right? not for what someone wants him to do. so just calm down and enjoy that night!

hah yeah, nice backtracking

First you discouraged the D'n'B kids entirely, and now you probably consulted someone who knows more about what's gonna go down than you do, so you had to rectify your first statement, I understand.

Is there anyone who's actually running this shit who could shed some light on what's really gonna happen? Cause I'm not paying 10$ for some pussy electro set, crowd full of noobs with faux hawks, fuck that shit.

Yeah, my favorite part is how he says that this city isn't the place for drum and bass.

Hmm. I guess you, me, Twisted Bass, IDJ crew, all the old Blue Dog crew, the old Saphir Crew, Sase One, Corey K, Mayday, Subtone, Stalker, Generic... yeah, we don't mean shit. There's no place for us in this city. Montreal is all about the faggy Made-For-Vice-Magazine-Readers electronic music.

Alright alright. I didn't meant to dissing everyone actually playing it. But seriously, can anyone live with only his drum and bass gigs with no side line?
Pis rate a Montreal. Ya un show a TO anyways non? on te racontera. tu chiales pour 10$. c'est le prix du dernier KO avec SW@T. la t'as Noisia. pis Drop the Lime. Pis Banditos. Pis Kasdal.
