Well the way to not pay the RIAA is to get music online for free...something these RIAA bastards are fiercely attacking.

But I agree that if EVERYONE stopped buying CDs, it would initiate a shitstorm for them. But most consumers are too retarded to bother. I suppose most people over 40 prefer buying their Céline Dion CDs in stores because " it's less complicated ".

I wont say they are not greedy fucks, but its very false to assume a cd is cheap to make. Yes the medium is cheap, but theres alot more involved in making a cd. Its not like the sole purpose of the money you pay for a cd is to cover the medium expense. (but i agree it should be cheaper, but not because of production costs).

The only reason a CD is so damn expensive to make would be the fucking sleeve, which is just a pompous way to showcase your CD against others. The cost in the paper and ink alone are ridiculous. So quite honestly, if you need a grandiose sleeve, some bling or naked chicks on it, your music clearly fucking sucks monkey balls.

The RIAA spends millions annually to PROMOTE artists with posters, radio interviews, special events that showcase the artists, etc...

What the RIAA fails to see is that regardless of how much money you throw in to promote Céline Dion, there ain't no way I'm paying for her shitty music, period. And they are keeping their old retarded ways despite showcasing an artist at HMV and having more than half the people attending leave the store to download that shit online for free.

Clearly, their " grand scheme " is only
