skale tracker was to be as smooth as renoise, but you have it the tool of champions , that is if you ever used scream tracker , impulse tracker , fasttracker and the whole plenora that never improve nothing but the skin.

i got noise trekker too it rocks..

getting templates done is the challenge here they take hours to write, conner_bw btw are you collecting the wave export or you just want to rip our skeleton compositions we worked our ass for hours for ??

what is your take on reusing the work ? its public i can now use it , i bet?

I don't understand what you are saying. The contest is over and the submissions are being judged. Did you submit something? If not, it's way too late now. Sorry.

The work is copyright the respective authors. You are free to download and look at it. it's not public domain though. Don't go slapping your name on someone else's track. Write the author to show some props and ask if a remix is cool. No doubt it is, but use some common sense.

Downloads are here: [ www.trotch.com ]

Judge info is here: [ www.renoise.com ]

I dont own a mac .Logic is on mac only since 2002 ( if i remember correctly ) it use to be on pc too. Its only a midi sequencer/daw... they are all the same ; cakewalk , cubase etc.. I use to have a student job teaching that stuff at click music in Québec city in 2000/2001. Very intuitive software but for some reason i learned with cakewalk's products and always prefered them after that.

I don't see how you can have a Logic or Acid contest without just calling it a general production contest and accepting MP3 files. Like, can you send me a Logic or Acid file? And can I open it? Even if i could, would it not be a huge file or series of unrelated files and plug-ins?

I wanted a Renoise contest because I wanted self-contained XRNS files. With those files I can learn something of other people's techniques and play around with the files to better myself.

I have enough MP3 files as it is. You guys should have a production contest for your sequencers if you really want. It might be cool!

this is what i meant by getting people material, yur staging a complete contest, to get the contestant skills, in a world where rich owns the universe, they stay at the top.

anyways , we all did, but i spend the last 16 years getting old .mod files from the demoscene , to my favorite games and now 16 y later i still have a dino computer only for that , my atari, and a criptic library of chirp music no one gived for the last 15 years, funny , this is how you know someone is old school or not

cheq out ColdStorage, that guy rocks he did the wipeout soundtrack, and basehead and necro from straylight , they are imho my heros of tracking, but then again, they camed to my ears

like angels from above (or below) and dunno if they lll make the same impact to you.

but note this, coldstorage, dont giveout wipout and wipeout xl skeleton mod.

this used to be considered like having the soul of the tracker back then when you had someone else track code (wish people had same respect nowadays).

if you rip their stuff, at least email them please

Cutterhead, are you accusing me of being a music theif or being rich? I am neither.

I've been on "the scene" since the early 1990's. I'm on the first and second Maz Sound Compilations [TRACKED WORX '97, TRACKED WORX '98] staples of the early PC mod/xm/it scene. I'm 33 years old dude. I've been tracking for decades. It's not like I don't know what trackers are about. The people who entered the contest all know me, either from IRC, the forums, or "the scene" in general.

Please relax, and stop coming off as some sort of "lord or righteousness", chanks.

(1) you feel guilty not my problem

(2) you want people skeleton work, just ask , dont stage like a freaking insurance compagny

(3) there is no lord in my world , so mellow your tone, i was saying something out broad,

(4) i can manage my own relaxation thank you and fuck off for your cheap attitude ripoff

after all thoses years you still want to learn ? or you figure out a way to steal 1000 of tracks in exchange of (1) price HA!

The man who understands today and stops learning tomorrow is uneducated the day after. Sharing mod files (in this case Renoise files) is what tracking is all about. There's no shame in learning. There's no shame in teaching.

I'm still not sure what your problem with the contest is. And for a guy i never met, who didn't even enter, you sure have a lot of opinions about it. I guess I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to say. And if you are trying to talk shit about me, well good work I guess?

If you need to discuss this further hit me up on [ Renoise.com ] otherwise I wish you all the best. Keep on doing your thing. It's magical.

Connor, don't bother with the guy. He's our new troll. He goes around namedropping classic computer-related stuff (like trackers, old outdated OSes and home computers from the late 70s) to make it sound like he's more knowledgable in everything we could possibly discuss than we are.

I was messing with renoise finally, hard to get used to using the FT2 style interface since I've been using buzz all this time.
But seriously, trackers have the best sampling capabilities ever, the control you have is worlds ahead of most VSTs.

I dunno if anyone else noticed. I just noticed yesterday in fact. There's a small "modland" banner at the bottom of these pages which points to [ ftp.rave.ca ]

I checked it out and sure enough it's all tracker files. Is that why the contest got a sticky?

[ Rave.ca ] (or [ rave.ca ] as it's original name) is the continuation of Maximum Entropy BBS and The Digital Cafe BBS which many people on here used to be part of and I ran. Tracking stuff always gets bonus points... Maybe you remember NOISE (New Objectives In Sound Exploration) which was ShawnM's group. When he shut down The Digital Cafe, I merged it with Maximum Entropy (which was my BBS). Was a WHQ for many tracking groups, and also hosted FidoNET + MusicNET + AnimeNET. As for Modland, a north american mirror was needed cause the Sweden one is stupidly slow. I took it upon myself to make the "unofficial" North American mirror... Since I only update once in a while and not every day.
