| Coolness: 55285 | I can tell flo and gamos were elsewhere that day! A police car was molotov-coktailed, at least 10 stores had windows smashed, and I have admit that I got pretty scared after I had a brick thrown at me by a protester and got hit in the back of the head by a cop. Once I realized that I wasn't on any side I stopped overtly filming and focus on not getting hurt. Also seeing one of the vandals clock a photographer with a 2x4 made me a little shy so I wasn't able to capture my best shots of the carnage, but theres always next year! : P |

why? I'm sorry, I'm all for defending your rights, but policeman also have wife, kids etc. Burning a police station is not an answer to anything. It's just plain dumb. Creating a riot for the sake of creating a riot is what is silencing the cause you are trying to defend... |

choose your friends carefully or deal with the consequences... In your story, they where doing their jobs. I know there is police brutality, I don't disagree with that. But there is also A LOT of exageration from young people who think saying "fuck the police" for no reason is cool.... |

Also seeing one of the vandals clock a photographer with a 2x4 made me a little shy so I wasn't able to capture my best shots of the carnage, but theres always next year! : P ok what did the the smashing of store windows accomplish exactly? a protester hit a photographer with a 2x4? that's great. he must be a very balanced, mentally sound individual a protester threw a brick at you? if that had hit you in the head, it could have resulted in irreversible brain injury or death. this guy is supposed to be making a statement *against* brutality?? so basically, much of this "protest" involved antisocial misfits venting their frustrations on inanimate objects and innocent bystander. I don't know. they may see themselves as agents of the underground resistance... but from what you just described, it seems more like an asshole convention to me. |
