Come on CG sucked ass...

| ...you say that because you didn't see it in high-def. Standard deff, yeah, hell even in theaters it was blurry and hard to see.. But on blu-ray or HD-DVD, there is absolutely no "blur", everything is crystal clear, and were you to pause it you could see every single detail.
Most movies, for sure, don't really benifit from being transfered to HD, as they weren't filmed on a medium that would benifit it.. I mean really, there doesn't NEED to be a new release of Evil Dead or Aliens (though you know there will be..).. But on recent stuff like Transformers, or other things that were shot in HD like Haute Tension, the "new" starwars movies, or even Jason X (technically the first film filmed in HD, but that got delayed because Lucasart studios was threatening to sue if they released a movie filmed in HD before Episode 1, as they'd secured some sort of 'first release/use' deal), it would really make worlds of diffrence for the picture quality.. Even HD tv.. I'm not into sports at all, but have you ever seen a football game in HD? You're gonna sit through the whole thing with your jaw on the floor just from the colour quality, let alone how crisp and rasor-sharp the image is! It's really almost like you're watching it live, like you could reach into the screen and take the players off the field.. |

| I only saw Spider Man 3 on blu ray cuz it came with my PS3, there's a HUGE difference between a blu ray movie and a normal dvd, but i really like to see something with lots of special effects on blu ray (like transformers)
maybe some day. |

| I dont care for blu ray and I can be honest and say I dont really know much about blu ray other then it seems to cost more, some movies are only available as blu ray which dosnt seem right to me and that im sure it will be yesturdays news in less then a year |

| well personnaly im working as a tech support and the only advantage to have a Blu Ray is only for Full HD TV because of the resolution. It wont actually replace the old technology of laser reading cuz all small ppl wont really be able to afford a Full HD TV since the prices range is still expensive. But, for those who can afford purchasing the equipment, BLU RAY IS THE SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO for but don t go for HD with videotron yet LOL not enough channels and terminals are not that good with HDMI cables, it creates compatibility issues if ur tv does not support HDCP (High definition copy protection) |

| DVDs are 4gb and most people rip them to 700mb, I can imagine something very similar will happen with BluRay... |
|
I'm feeling fantastic right now.. |
|
Coolness: 685600
| yeah, but a DVD rip at 700mb is still not exactly DVD quality. Sure, DivX/Xvid looks damn good for the size, but it's still nowhere near DVD quality video, and usually also has 128 or 192k quality 2-chanel MP3 for the audio.. Good enough to just download and watch on your computer, but if it comes down to paying for something, no fucking way is anyone in their right mind going to settle for something with artifacts and even a 192k quality 2-chanel MP3 audio if they're going to play it on their HDTV with an 8.1 surround system. |
|
I'm feeling like cheezing right now.. |
|
Coolness: 509570
| yeah, but then anyone with that amount of money to blow likely doesn't know what divx or 192kbps means anyway. I guess to each his own, but I could see downloading 50gb in less than 24 hours in the next 5 years... then we'll burn it to our Blu Ray dvd-rs or put it up in our 100gb gmail account :P |
