That's gross overpayment, 3 roster players in our top 6 forwards for a 2 month rental? He wont sign if we dont have a deep playoff run and he wont sign either if his centre is Smolinski, Lapierre or Begin...

We are a better team now than we would be with Hossa and without Ryder - Koivu - Higgins, plus Koivu is captain clutch, watch him go. The closer he gets to the playoffs the better he plays. Once he's in the playoffs he kicks it into high gear, same goes when he has a team Finland jersey on.

Captain Clutch I tell ya!

I don't mind loosing huet....but what's funny is that the sent price back to hamiltdon a month or so ago and now they give huet away and use him as the main...that's just asking for trouble..

hope it goes well for us.

You realise that that was Huet's last chance and he blew it? They put their faith in Huet and choked in the end. They knew they were gonna play Huet for ~10 games and wouldnt allow Price to warm the bench so they sent him and Rollie to go play as much as Possible in the AHL. After his shutout vs. Philly and seeing the way he played on that 5 on 3 for an entire 2 mins stopping 8 shots in the process and seeing the way he played since come back I think he is as good as Huet... at the age of 20!

Huet was hot/cold anyway, not what you want going in the playoffs, his total of 6 playoff games isnt that much experience either. When we look at Price's resume we can see that he has backstopped Team Canada Jr and led em to a gold medal winning the MVP, he followed in the AHL leading a team he hardly even knew to the Calder Cup and won the MVP there again.

The kid can handle pressure, that's for certain. Huet on the other hand could collapse in very critical situations, a certain goal from the blue line that went through him in OT of Game 6 of the series vs the Hurricanes a few years back comes to mind. Need I remind you that that goal was the series winner and the Hurricanes won the cup? The complete failure that was the Leafs comeback in the last game of last season also comes to mind and leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

I have Faith...+1 in Jesus Price ;)

I believe you have smoked yourself retarded.

I hope for your sake. I just hope I get to see this before I die. If they do, I gotta buy you 40 ounces of your favorite alcohol.

I mean, the Canadiens are incredible this year but everytime we climb up the ranks toward the Cup, the steam evaporates and we fall flatter that Josee Chouinard at figure skating.

the only thing i want is at least get to the playoffs and beat first round. Cuz i know they wont make it to the stanley cup. Just looking at detroit is making me feel like a loser.

But in general im really proud of what the canadiens did this year so far.Best season in sooooooooo long. Can't wait for the playoffs.

The Stars, Ducks or Sharks will get Detroit as usual in the second round. The Ducks and Stars are the teams that scare me most. In the east I don't fear anyone except New Jersey, but the curse was lifted about a month ago, let's hope that holds out ;)

Well, when they put price back to hamilton, it was obvious that then NEEDED to give Huet a chance (at that point, he was just comming back from injury and a really crappy start of season) to higher his GAA, to increase his trade value. it was like a marketing scam from the start and it worked, because as mentionned, it was expected that we would loose HUETTE at the end of the year anyways because he was a free agent !!

Gainey knew what he was doing this year and what a job he has done.. call him dumb all you want, but the team has never looked better than they do now, and all that, thanks to Gainey !!!
